Re: Honda del sol AUX Light Disassembly

Don't go to SS. It's been dead for quite some time. Besides, why would you try angel eyeing the stockers? They're fluted; it would look ridiculous.

If you really want them your options are...

Re: Del Sol Fuel economy

Even with the autotragic if everything is tuned up and in good running order you should be getting about 30-35 mpg. I think that's like 13-15 kpl. Definitely look into some new OEM parts like have...

Bench Bleeding with Power Bleeder

I just recently got my hands on a Motive Power Bleeder thanks to Import RP here on HT. I also got ahold of a VTEC MC and booster. When I go to install them is the Power Bleeder capable of fully...

Re: 94 Sol Si Tailight not working.

Sounds like they got paint in the connecting clip. Clean up that connection and it should help/fix it. Why was the clip painted over anyway?

Re: Difficult Launch, manual transmission 93 Del Sol Si

Depends, have the manuals your dad has been driving for 25 years all been big domestics? Domestic clutches are much more forgiving than imports. Import clutches take much more finesse to master....

Re: Drilling CF hood

I would definitely NOT use a hole saw if you can help it. The step drill bit should work fine- just drill slowly and smoothly, and as noman mentioned mask off the area you're drilling through. This...

Re: IACV cleaning?

Yeah, just remove the IACV. It's only a couple bolts and isn't that hard to get to. You'll never be able to reach all the nooks and crannies that you need to with it still on the TB. If it still...

Did you remember to bench bleed the MC before you installed it?

Re: d16y7 vs d16z6 Builds

Ben, you really need to do some more research before you start spending money, or it will all go down the $#!+ter real quick. Click the "How to Turbocharge your Civic" link in Grumble's signature. It...

Re: d16y7 vs d16z6 Builds

Turbos are anything but "bolt on". They are an involved build that even with the most economical of routes will still cost at least $1200-$1500.

Re: d16y7 vs d16z6 Builds

Boost is your only option. Stock z6/y8s can handle up to 200hp if they've been taken care of. More power will require bottom end building. The y8 block is generally considered stronger than the z6...

Re: Is my d15 worth keeping? Any performance or tuning tips/ ideas??

I've seen some argue that the D15s are the best Ds to boost since they don't have VTEC. Something to do with the pressures involved and the changeover into VTEC being hard on the engine. Regardless...

Re: Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ

There's a local guy that autoxes one. He was lucky enough to be one of the initial 86. Runs in C stock IIRC. Took first in both days of races. It's not necessarily the fastest, but the damn thing...

Re: del sol front end swap eg or ek?

EG front for sure. The EK headlights look all googly-eyed on the Sol. :P

Re: Carbon fiber or not?

As long as it's a major brand of hood as 2lem1 said. My VIS have held up well for the last 4 years, and is only just now starting to show some wear around the edges. The main body of the cf is still...

Re: 1996 del Sol exhaust/header problems.

After all that headache (and money spent) why didn't you just swap the stock manifold back on 'til you could save up for the correct header?

Re: 93 del sol S brake upgrade

You don't NEED to, but it's easier than swapping the hub and caliper assemblies. And often times yards or other people are going to charge the same price for the whole assembly or just the necessary...

Re: Buzzing Noise behind the seats, Del Sol far from home.

Well if it's coming from the area of the gas tank (underneath the passenger bin) then yeah it probably is the fuel pump. Definitely not a roadside repair as you need to rip the bins out to get to it....

Re: I need A D.I.Y on eg lip on del sol

It's pretty straightforward. You just have to line the lip up on the bumper where you want it. Tape it down firmly. Leave it in the sun for a while then use some self-tapping screws for the final...

Re: Del sol parts Compatibility??

Pretty much any EG chassis will swap directly. The Civic EX is going to be your most compatible vehicle... depending on whether you have rear disc or rear drum.

Re: Del sol driver window???? Help

Last time I had similar problems the window had come out of the track and the extra stress bent the regulator so it wouldn't slide up and down uniformly.

Like NVturbo said, take the door apart and...

Re: Del sol Rain Vent Shades Visor for doors.

Don't really see how it's possible since the del Sol has a targa. There are really only two styles of vent shade- snap-in, which won't work since the targa has no window channel, and tape-on, which...

Re: 95 Del sol si, windshield washer wire harness

The washer bottle goes inside the bumper cover on the drivers side. You should see a hole near the drivers headlight where the fill spout pokes through. Down in there might be where the harness is......
