2014 Accord LX - Removing front-right wheel hub for bearing replacement

I'm replacing the bearing on the front-right wheel. I've watched a few instructional videos for removing front hubs, but they appear to be for older models. The videos show an upper arm that...

2014 Accord LX - Unknown noise/vibration

My wife's car has a low tone noise/vibration from somewhere in the front, that gets louder the faster we go, and seems to be related to wheel speed, not engine rpm. Car seems to run fine otherwise. ...

Re: 98 Civic EX D16Y8 - Bad head?

So let me back up a little. After the rebuild, the engine was running smoothly. Then I washed the engine so I can see any new leaks that may present themselves. I let it sit for about an hour...

Re: 98 Civic EX - Fel-Pro HS9915PT1 - Incorrect exhaust flange gasket?

I hear you, RonJ. But they were included, unless I used the wrong parts from the package (which I doubt).

In the parts image you listed, the 2 large gasket rings (3rd row from bottom) are the...

Re: 98 Civic EX D16Y8 - Bad head?

How do you check for cracks? There was nothing visible to indicate such.

We checked flatness using the edge of a square. There were no highs/lows. I'm sure there are "better" tools, but that's...

98 Civic EX D16Y8 - Bad head?

So I just did a head gasket replacement on my engine due to sputtering, and water in cylinder #2. After everything reassembled, and driven a few miles, the sputtering has returned. Yay, me!

For...

Re: 98 Civic EX - Fel-Pro HS9915PT1 - Incorrect exhaust flange gasket?

I can verify that the gaskets I was referring to are for the manifold flange. EXCEPT, they are for the LX, not the EX model. So I had to buy new ones.

In case anyone needs the info, the part...

98 Civic EX - Fel-Pro HS9915PT1 - Incorrect exhaust flange gasket?

I have a stock 1998 Honda Civic EX with the D16Y8. I just completed a head gasket job. For the job, I bought the Fel-Pro HS9915PT1 gasket kit. I need to replace the exhaust flange gaskets, as the...

Re: 98 Civic EX - New Radio/Speakers

I'm not looking to separately amp the speakers. I'm not an audiophile or anything. Just like to listen to my music, and have it sound good.

I've centered on the following hardware:
Possible...

98 Civic EX - New Radio/Speakers

Took me a long time to get to it, but I'm looking to replace my stock radio and speakers. Not looking for anything flashy. Actually, I'm a pretty simple guy who likes simple toys. Just needs to...

Re: 98 Civic EX - Timing belt replacement

Yeah, I still need to get that tool.
I had my truck on stands for 2 weeks to replace a simple trans leak because ... it was my first time, and I'm always very careful and thoughtful when I'm tearing...

Re: 98 Civic EX - Timing belt replacement

I appreciate all the info from everyone. I'll look into what you have quoted here and see what I can put together.

I'm definitely planning to do this myself. Gawd ... $685 at the dealer. I'll...

98 Civic EX - Timing belt replacement

It's time! Well, it's PAST time ... like 40K past time. I'm ashamed.

Anyway, it'll be my first foray into timing belt replacement, so I'm looking for some info ...

I want to get a kit that...

Re: 1998 Honda Civic EX with P1457 Code

It's been 7 months since I cleared the code last. I did a good wipe of the gas cap and filler opening, and am guessing that did the trick. At least I hope.

Re: 98 Honda Civic EX Manual - Type of trans fluid?

Is there a special additive in the MTF that doesn't exist in standard 10w30? Why not use synthetic?

98 Civic EX - Sometimes car dies at idle

During the winter (if you can say Florida has a winter), my car had a bad habit of not wanting to idle until it warmed up, and it would sometimes die even after it was warmed up. Under acceleration,...

98 Honda Civic EX Manual - Type of trans fluid?

I called my local dealer and they told me I could use 10W30 in my manual transmission. This sound right? Is it ok to use synthetic?

My car was stolen this morning - How to keep it from happening again?

Sneaky bastards. Someone managed to roll my 98 Civic EX from between my garage and my truck. Looks like they probably jacked and rolled the rear end around, based on the tire impressions in the...

Re: 98 Civic EX - Why is it bad to flush your manual transmission?

It's manual.

I've heard about flushing a couple of times. One of them talked about it being bad to use water. Duh. I'd never flush a component with water that wasn't specifically designed to...

98 Civic EX - Why is it bad to flush your manual transmission?

I got my car at 60K, and it now has 130K. I know in the time I've had it, it's never been changed (I didn't know it needed to be at 30K frequencies), and I'm just recently learning to do these...
