Steering rack swap trouble

I got my old steering rack out without dropping or removing my subframe.
The pinion just fell out of the rack.
I was wondering if there was a way to do that to my new rack to put it back in, or if...

Alright just checked to see if theres a bent splash guard on my brake rotor and theres nothing besides the brake pads touching them.

How would one diagnose a ball joint issue?

The car was realigned when the inner tie rod was replaced, and the whole front brake assembly is brand new. I got my friend to turn the wheel while I listened and it came from around where the tie...

I'll look for that too. But I don't think that's what's happening since the squeaking happens when the car is stationary.
