Re: d15z1 / d16y5 VTEC-E Squad!

My aim is less about fuel economy and more one of taking advantage of the rocker assembly and increased ramp rates that are possible with roller rockers.

The Z1 valvetrain fits in a Y8 casting...

Re: d15z1 / d16y5 VTEC-E Squad!

Oh absolutely, of interest I believe is that the Z1 valvetrain appears lighter than the Z6/Y8 valvetrain. Come November I'll have rough cam information on the Z1 cam to verify lift and duration...

Re: d15z1 / d16y5 VTEC-E Squad!

93 vx that is mostly stock at the moment...including the ugly teal paint.

I'm interested in the Z1 cam specs, mostly the duration and ramp rates (I think I've got access to the lift numbers but...

Product Feedback Needed: D15Z1 roller cam use with Bisi's 3.6 D16Y8 camshaft

I'm determined to run a high lift roller cam D series on pretty high boost and high compression, yet I'm having issues finding a cam and bisi has yet to respond to my email about cutting a D15Z1...

Re: Adding a heater core to turbo coolant lines: Discuss the pros/cons

OP, I would think that your idea of using a heater core can help with cooling, but I'm not so sure by how much.

The main factor you will need to consider is how you are going to get air to flow...

Re: Water to Air Intercooler, Heat Exchanger, & Pump Needs

As for amperage demand I want to thank you for pointing that out, I have looked into swapping out the 70 amp alternator for something substantially more capable of handling any increased load and...

Re: Water to Air Intercooler, Heat Exchanger, & Pump Needs

Thanks and I will.

My budget is not unlimited I just need to be frugal with what I'm putting out for this part of the project.

I'm curious if you had a particular method of figure what...

Re: Water to Air Intercooler, Heat Exchanger, & Pump Needs

Yes it is for cooling a much larger engine than my little 1.5l and I have no doubt the pump will move plenty of water at an adequate pressure.

As for cost, yes it is something I am willing to...

Re: Water to Air Intercooler, Heat Exchanger, & Pump Needs

A2A is out of the question.
a) I don't want the giant volume of charge pipe that goes along with a front mount IC.
b) I do want the extra intake charge cooling capability of the W2A in both on and...

Water to Air Intercooler, Heat Exchanger, & Pump Needs

In an effort to retain my AC and a few other creature comforts I'm looking to put together a w2a intercooler rather than use an a2a front mount.

I'm having a bit of trouble selecting an...

Re: d15z1 / d16y5 VTEC-E Squad!

I have neither the Y5 or Y8 heads so my main reason would be a Y8 complete head and intake manifold are in the plan.

I have nothing against using the HX cylinder head at all, if they are the exact...

Re: d15z1 / d16y5 VTEC-E Squad!

Lots of haters seem to jump in and give their opinions here, I just started working on my basic plan for my 92 VX.

01 PMS-A00 0.25 over pistons and rings
D16Y8 head with the Z1 valvetrain swapped...

Re: 95 d16z6 turbo...running like crap blowing smoke...dont know where to start

I don't know about a $900 tune, the car is likely a copy of a hundred thousand other boosted cars and any shop worth the time to even drive up to should have a base map close enough to reduce tuning...

Re: Stroked and boosted b18c

We have to know what cams and what fuel, on the supercharger will it be pretty much a stock install or are you going to mess with the drive pulley diameter? Air inlet temps can play a big part in...

Re: Performance Help! where to start!

I'm not 100% on the delsol suspension, and what does them good, but for the most part you want adjustability. You want a suspension that is free to move where it needs to move without binding but...

Re: Performance Help! where to start!

The first thing you want to get is an engine management system, this allows you to tune the car at each and every step of modification.

If you were still going N/A picking a cam and basing...

Re: Performance Help! where to start!

AEM EMS, then the cam gear, maybe hold back $800 or so bucks at $100 an hour for dyno and tune between each modification.

Base all your mods off of the cam you are going to use, in your case...

Re: My EG Build

I'm not exactly liking the intercooler mounting as it is in these pictures, why did you decide to do it this way?

Re: seafoam help

I know that Seafoam is not a port and polish, what I was saying was an analogy.

As far as Seafoam being an injector cleaner, please think again about this claim. Few if any injectors become...

Re: seafoam help

It's not likely going to foul out the injectors, but a bunch of carbon mud in your piston rings is going to increase wear on the cylinder wall and thrust side of the piston if you have loose rings in...

There are a ton of reasons to reduce the weight of a...
