For anyone trying to do this the metra 99-7898 worked like a charm for me i would expect the same 99-7892 as quoted above to work the same. Minimal grinding was done to the cut off tabs to make them...

Simple fix would be like you said donor car, pop the pins, re-solder and good to go. Seems like you know what needs to be done but just don't want to do the effort lol.

Thing is i had a friend sit in the drivers seat as i held onto the cable and they moved the slider from cold to hot and their is no tension on the cable. So i think i am going to have to investigate...

Thanks going to pick up a new bracket and install it. When i change the H/C slider in the car it goes from warm to hot, don't have much cold lol. I'm wondering if the cable is connected to the slider...
