Just wanted to say thanks for the help you've provided along the way for the duration I had my Accord. I sold it the other day so I don't think here all that much.

I do, however,...

I have a timing belt kit that I was going to install but sold the Accord. I now have no need for this. It includes both timing belts, 2 tensioners, and a new water pump. All brand new in original...

Re: Starting problems after car is "kind of warm" w/ 420,000 miles =)

IACV would be a good place to look at

I was reading up online and found that some Hondas have issues with the main fuel relay under the dash which can develop cold solder joints

Re: 94-95 vs 96-97 F22B1

Ok, so in this case it does make sense to make sure its a 94-95 for me - or at least keep the existing distributor & intake manifold. The oil pump wouldn't need to be changed if I went with a 96-97...

94-95 vs 96-97 F22B1

Is there any difference? I am going to replace my motor and have seen these motors listed seperately. Can someone tell me what the difference is (if any). They look the same and have the same...

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

I dont think the compressed air was conclusive enough. I re-did the test a few times as well and not enough information.

I did adjust the valve lash while I had the valve cover off though, I did...

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

ok, from the compressed at while at TDC it seems that I can hear the air through the intake on #4 and its tough to tell, but I think I can hear it through exhaust on #3.

I'm going to try and do...

Re: f22b non-vtec jdm engine idle prob and misfire

if compression is good then check EGR

if that checks out double check valve clearances & timing

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

Yeah, I'll let ya know. I was planning on checking the valve lash while I have the cover off. I'm assuming poor maintenance from previous owner has led to a burnt valve or 2.

I gotta go out of...

Re: f22b non-vtec jdm engine idle prob and misfire

1) Check your EGR - clean it out
- follow the FAQ thread, its easy enough

2) run a compression test to ensure proper compression
- you will see the true health of the engine

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

already removed the valve so air will go through. With the spark plugs removed I can get turn the crank by spinning the power steering pulley. If I take the valve cover off can i verify TDC by...

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

What are the approx. cost for the a rebuid? If its just the head then that would be the plan. If the rings are shot it would need additional work.

I've been needing to get to the air check,...

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

So, my question at this point is - will it be cheaper to just swap the motor instead of rebuilding? I can find a F22B1 locally for $400 tested w/ good compression across the board. I'm assuming...

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

I used some gorilla glue on the threads and was able to get the compression tester end out. Gonna try to get a leak test going. I'll let ya know.

Re: Emissions - 1994 Accord EX Hydrocarbons High

Just got the car a month ago... Previous owner did not care for it like he could/should have

All things are possible...

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

Cool. That's what I was thinking of doin. I'll let you know how it goes.

Problem is when I was doing a compression test the end of the tester separated and is still in cyl #1.

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

I have an air compressor, so that is not a problem. What is the test for the valves?

How much work is it to remove the head? I'm assuming timing must come off then the rest right?

I have not...

Re: '90 4cyl. no spark.

First off - you will need to replace the VC gaskets - change all 4 spark plug chamber seals with the larger gasket simultaneously.

How many miles on the car? When were plugs/wires/rotor/cap...

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

Well, compression test showed a lot of inconsistency between other cylinders as well

#1) 120
#2) 60
#3) 165
#4) 150

This tester I got was a rental from autozone and didnt have an o-ring...

Re: Key Fob, AC compressor, Rough Idle

Ticking sounds very much the same between all 4 injectors - and given the fact that I'm flooded with hydrocarbons it makes sense that the injector is pumping out gas and that a) there is no...
