Re: Stupid question regarding replacement brake shoes

If I was looking for brake pads I would have asked about brake pads.

Any aftermarket vendors to suggest, or should I really pay my local Honda dealer close to $100 for a set?

I don't care...

Icon5 Stupid question regarding replacement brake shoes

Does a set of replacement rear brake shoes (Honda part 43053-SR3-A01) include a set for both left and right wheels, or do I have to purchase two of the above part numbers?

Any recommended...

Re: 92-00 civic speedometer fix

There was no CEL and I did not check for any codes, but I did trace the VSS to the gauge (I'm pretty sure I just used a digital voltmeter) and determined the signal made it that far. From this I...

Re: 92-00 civic speedometer fix

Thanks VXer. Great pics! The parts all look the same as my 92.

Re: 92-00 civic speedometer fix

That about covers it.

In my case after enough use of the aforementioned tool, I drove around with the cluster half-disassembled and traced the VSS signal all the way to the speedometer. Signal...

(92 LX) after brief operation, it's hard to start again

Symptom: From a cold start, start the car and let it run for a few minutes, not enough to get warm. Then, shut it down.

Upon the very next attempt to start it, hours or days later but basically a...

Re: 92-00 civic speedometer fix

That's what I did too - whacked the dash right above the speedo and then it would for for a time.

Interesting about the main relay - I've been having that problem too. I'll look into resoldering...

Re: mileage on gauge cluster..... reset?

If a gauge cluster needs to be replaced, the correct mileage should be noted somewhere (I have heard etching it on or near the doorjamb label is the normal method) but you ought to find out what your...

Re: brake pedal goes too far down before braking

That's pretty much what was happening, except it would sink nearly to the floor... not all the way. It didn't happen all the time either, just often enough to be scary. A quick pump of the brake...

Re: brake pedal goes too far down before braking

Because I had the same problem. I did everything including new pads, fluid change and bleed. Problem still happened. I suspected the brake master cylinder was leaking internally. Honda service said...

Re: Can ethanol gas cause a clogged filter.....

It will not crank? ??? Or it will crank but refuse to start?

If it cranks but does not start I'd suspect the distributor cap, especially if it's been sitting a while. It gets moist and cruddy...

Re: brake pedal goes too far down before braking

What happens if you pump the brake pedal? Does it engage earlier?

Re: A/C not cooling

not true.

true.

I recommend finding a shop that services R12 systems and fixing what you have. R12 was wildly expensive for a while but is reasonable again due to low demand.

Conversion...

Re: 92-00 civic speedometer fix

When my speedo went to zero the odometer stopped counting as well. The resoldering technique described above fixed things.

Considering the speedo and odometer might use different signals from...
