Re: Low oil pressure after turbo - have searched

As far as oil pressure before the turbo I do not know, didn't have the gauge. But it would engage vtec, so it had to have the proper pressure, if I am correctly?

Re: Low oil pressure after turbo - have searched

Golden Eagle lsvtec sandwich plate, runs the oil pressure to the head, and the other port sends the oil to the turbo. From the oil pressure sensor location I have a t-fitting to the oil pressure gauge

I've been searching for a while now, but here is an overview of my setup and what happened:

b18b (81.5mm weisco/manley rods)
gsr head (stock)
acl bearings

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

Sorry it's been a while, got pretty frustrated and actually ended up moving into a new house. Today I tried the other oil restrictor I had laying around to see if it changed the oil pressure problem....

Re: Low Oil Pressure After Holset Install

I'm having the EXACT same problem, however I am running a -3 feed from a GE sandwich plate. I would love to hear if you find the problem. If I can figure mine out as well, I will let you know. I...

No, the oil has been changed like 4 times since I started breaking it in.

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

Just went in and checked it out, car is idling at 40psi cold and once it's warmed up it drops to around 12psi. I'm starting to think it's the type of oil I used. I'm still going to get the car home...

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

Bottom end was rebuilt by a reputable machine shop, I put roughly 1000-1500 miles on it? No problems. When I drove the car in the lowest the oil pressure was at idle was 12-20psi. My guess is...

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

Yep.. once I get the car back home it's going to be replaced, and I'm going to check bearing clearances. My only question is why would it fail just a few miles after a turbo install, that hasn't even...

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

Not sure what me being there has to do with the oil pressure. It's obviously a problem somewhere, whether it happened to me, or them, it was still an underlying issue waiting to surface. I'm not too...

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

My work schedule conflicts, I can't be there. I trust them fully though, they have never steered me wrong. Plus they are still ironing out issues for me. I will get to see it's final pulls once it's...

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

Just got a text from RC Autoworks, it's on the dyno. Has some boost leak issues at the IC piping where I had to make cuts and is no longer bead rolled. They're working on replacing/repairing those...

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

Got the car there, they told me the downpipe was leaking and wasn't fitted properly. They had to make some minor tweaks to the manifold, and I ended up going with a new downpipe 2.5 inch diameter...

Re: Car shuts off (sort of) under boost.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you're running injectors without a resistor box can't it overheat the ECU and kill the injector pulse?

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

Thank you Shodan, got them already. Downpipe is on, car is at the shop. Unfortunately it won't be done until Tuesday because of the holiday weekend. The suspense is killing me. Car drove fine the...

Re: Budget B18b1 Turbo

I feel like those are a bit small, but I'm no turbo guru. From what I understand a lot of people have success with the 2nd gen eclipse turbo's

Re: Budget B18b1 Turbo

I went with ebay IC pipes + intercooler, ebay turbo, ebay manifold - ended up buying a real turbo (silver surfer from theshodan), and kept the IC/pipes and manifold. Manifold ended up causing more...

Re: Budget B18b1 Turbo

Yeah a standard ebay IC kit would suit your goals just fine. Just don't cheap out on the BOV or wastegate. Also don't try running a basemap tune and think you're safe

Re: Budget B18b1 Turbo

3 inch IC piping is a bit excessive. You'll need a tune from a dyno tuner and at a minimum DSM injectors. In before "use the search" posts.

re: LS Vtec turbo rebuild! Lots of pics -*Now parting out/selling*

My scheduled time slot is tomorrow, I was dropping it off in their night drop. The shop is less than 5 miles from where the car sits. If I couldn't afford a tow, I wouldn't have this thread here.
