Dohc zc cheap,easy,light, quick for what it is. Si trans + I/H/E you could probably keep up with a b18.

It could be spark plugs,wires, coil, igniter, distributor housing or wiring issue.

Ive done it, I swaped the whole harness from a 89 dx to an 89 si, and lets just say that I would rather do an engine swap than that. It probably took about 5 hours to get the harness at pick-n-pull...

When mine went out I poped off the white cap and mine was all burnt up, you could clean the contact points up but I just got a new one.

Sounds like its your Ignition Switch because you dont have any lights when the key is turned assuming that you have a good battery.

Sohc zc (non-vtec) or DOHC zc (non-vtec) both obd0 and dont have to change your mounts. dohc zc FTW!

You could have just unbolted the master cylinder (with lines still attached) moved it to the side and bring it out the top.

The radiator for the b16 should have larger diameter hoses to flow more coolant than the stock crx one so the hoses may have to be forced on there even if it does fit.

I couldn't close mine with zc without timing belt cover and had to cut the webbing or hood spacer.

In my crx DX with a dohc zc and an SI tranny (stock everything) the best I did granny shifting it was 42 mpgs on the highway. The worst was 35 in the city smashing.

But its JDM as F@CK. jk, I did it for a while when I have sohc spark plug wires on my dohc zc and my timing belt cover off. Then I just cut the webbing out of my hood and took the spacers out.

Yea you dont need to put oil in the filter people only do that with engines that the filter is vertical but on our engines its horizontal so starting dry isnt a problem.
