Crush Washer??

I've changed my oil several times but have not replaced the crush washer. I've never had a car with a crush washer and the idea seems silly. The manuals say replace the washer with every oil change...

I had a loud humming noise that started about 40 MPH. After lots of questions, I determined it was the right front bearing, which I replaced last weekend.

I use top of the line Fram filters from Wal-Mart. They are rated for 10K miles and that's what I run them, along with Mobile 1. I change oil/filter every 10K.

Does the boot just fit over a lip on the ball joint? I can't find any pics.

After reading many posts here, I replaced the right front wheel bearing. I need some tool help from my neighbor, who is a great guy. Unfortunately, while breaking free the lower ball...
