Re: All Motor B20 Vtec BROKEN!! Please help

Sounds like you dropped a valve (stock, used) while getting an "over-rev" while shifting. What did you set the BC springs installed height to? It makes a difference. Also what is the REAL rpm number...

Re: h22a valve lift at TDC

No, it is not on a B or H series. That is the cam to rocker clearance, to get valve clearance you need to multiply by the rocker ratio, which is 1.55. You would be correct on a D series.

Re: h22a valve lift at TDC

He is asking about lift at TDC in overlap. Or in the non firing cylinder. I do not know the stock cam number in VTEC but a Pro3 has the IN open .195 and EX is .182 @.000 lash. Lash @ the valve is...

Re: Thinking about using this ITR crank in a rebuild ?

Well, the crank has already been turnred once, as standard is 1.771 in. you would have to go .020 under. How are the mains? Is the crank straight?
I would not use it.

Re: skunk2 pro2 cam settings for h22

100 degree IN centerline and 106 EX centerline is where you should start.

Re: Stage 3 Cams with stock valve springs

What do you do to check installed spring height and adjust it, with the head on? Most are 34mm or 1.340 in. What shims do you use? What retainers are close to stock ones for setup? What seat and nose...

Re: Lets talk some rpm vs. whp theory...

Well, the OP said same car, same driver, same GEAR's. I guess he just inexperienced. Just for grins, the higher the shift point, the larger the RPM gap. Same gearbox.]
Using the example above 3 -4th...

Re: Lets talk some rpm vs. whp theory...

I agree, but making you peak at 10.000 does not help unless you change the gearbox/final drive ratios. It is the whole package.
Same weight, driver, chassis, tires, 2.5 litre making 250 @ 8500 1.6...

Re: Lets talk some rpm vs. whp theory...

Would that be with a Prelude gear box, a LS box, or a 4.9 "R" box? How about a stock Accord box, 15 inch wheels, and peak @ 9400? Maybe an automatic?

Re: Lets talk some rpm vs. whp theory...

Without knowing gear ratios and tire diameters, you have squat.

Which ever car goes through the traps at peak RPM's has the best chance to win.
Both those engines would want different gear box...

Re: how many hp can u get from every mm over ??

As no one wants to, or knows how to answer you question, I give you a quick shot. You have a stock bore stroke B16. 1591.2cc. It makes 160 HP that you have measured. Bore it to 82mm. It
is now...

Re: ignition timing ? after cam degree

So, is that where you set the IN VTEC centerline. 99 degrees ATDC? What were the .050 opening/ closing degree numbers?

Re: VTEC - Rockers not locking?? video attatched

Check the screen in the solenoid, oil pressure needs to be 60 lbs. after the solenoid when VTEC is on. You can check at the fitting on the EX. side of the head @ the rear of the head. 20-40 PSI until...

Re: Big Valve Head vs V2V

Yes, IF 0/0 is the same as the factory Sk. cam timing sheet. It will not be. Degree your cams. :thud:

Re: Corner weighting

Why not do them exactly what came off each track? Too much work? If you check the pressures after each session, and write it down, why not use it? If you set cambers by tire temp across the tire, why...

Re: Big Valve Head vs V2V

It should be .020, and the guy above me was talking .05mm or .010 cl. As the pro series cams from Skunk seem to want the EX. advanced, so when you actually degree them the V-V will be different, plus...

But how would you be able to check the weights with the "race" tire pressures? Different tracks create different "hot" tire pressures, ( say Daytona VS Robeling Road), and you should be corner...

Re: Big Valve Head vs V2V

Unless you actually degree in the cams, your cam gear #'s mean nothing. Plus the centerlines for a turbo are different than NA on the same cams. Intake closing and EX opening numbers ( the two most...

Re: Cnc head.. What do you think?

The head looks like it was CNC'd. Probably a bad casting, what is you complaint?
You are the proud owner of a CNC'd head. Yea.:)
