Did you put the LED in backwards? Diodes only allow current flow in one direction. If installed in the wrong direction, they will block current flow.

You have to put the meter in series with the power source to measure current. You cant use it in parallel, like when measuring voltage, to check current.

I had what I thought was a code for O2 also. Turns out it was not code for 02 but was the code for Air Intake Temperature Sensor. What I thought was code 1, short blink, was code 10, long blink....
