Fusion welding has its place, but its not for every application. I can weld most things without filler, but that doesn't make it right. Filler is needed for strength.

Word, It looked like you were into it as a little more than a hobby. Nice machine, cart, and welds! I love taking the time to make organizational stuff. Its good practice and calms my ocd haha.

I don't have the answer to that, but the man is an absolute master and builds manifolds for the best engines around. Im sure contacting him would get you a logical answer to why he had to do that.

Slow down. Take some more time with your work! Your mig settings aren't dialed, you were hot and didn't have enough wire speed. Take some time with the fit up and get in the habit of chamfering...

exactly! I do simple stuff like that all the time for beer or 20 bucks. Im not supporting myself solely off fabrication so simple jobs I don't charge much for. Im sure you could find someone local...

Save up for a tig if you want to weld aluminum in the future. Pay someone to do this for you, trying it without a push/pull is just gonna be a headache.
