If I remember correctly, there is a 5amp fuse in the under-the-hood fuse box that dosen't allow the fuel pump to prime. However it was a long time ago and I might be wrong, but it fixed the problem...

Are you sure you have air in the system? Did you bleed the system when installing new parts? I also have an over pressurizing problem, but have only blown hoses, not radiators.

Well it would start acting up and heating up at about half a mile of easy driving. There is no tach so we do not know the rpm range but we held it at we suspected to be around 2k for a good 45...
