I think the answer to your question is both yes and no. The OEM beam structure already acts as a sway bar because of it's shape and motion under force. I can see this bar adding to the rigidity but...

I would scuff them with some sandpaper to help the new pads develop their transfer layer more evenly.

But do you guys always have your rotors resurfaced when you change pads? Or do you guys go...
