Re: Highly audible knock during acceleration and start-up... Now time to rebuild...

LMFAO. That post pretty much made my night. I've also been eyeballing this manifold. Again, an ebay piece, but probably from a private shop doing small runs of this type. Beats paying 500+ for a...

Re: Highly audible knock during acceleration and start-up... Now time to rebuild...

Well like I said before, this car will still be a daily driver, with plans to retain p/s and a/c. So power goals aren't stupid high for a sohc. Just enough to walk away from the rich boy cars.

Re: Couple of questions regarding d16 rebuild.

1. Your picture is too close to tell what port that is. Although on the z6 there is one fitting on the intake manifold for a coolant line. Shouldn't be full of carbon...

2. This is the breather...

Re: Highly audible knock during acceleration and start-up... Now time to rebuild...

I actually just found a set of Nippon pistons, SCAT rods w/ ARP hardware, NPR rings, King rod, main, and thrust bearings, pins and locks for just over 500 via ebay. Not ideal considering the source,...

Re: Highly audible knock during acceleration and start-up... Now time to rebuild...

I will look into ACL bearings. I'm assuming you're talking about ARP rod bolts? Whichever rod set I go with, I will be getting ARP2000 rod bolts to go with. Should I look at ACL for main bearings as...

Re: Highly audible knock during acceleration and start-up... Now time to rebuild...

THIS is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. Of course the hone is necessary to put the crosshatch back in the cylinder walls, I was speaking about the necessity of boring the block,...

This thing is sex... I spy paint matched jdm thin door moldings, folding mirrors, rear quarter antenna, 5 lug swap, running r32 SKYLINE wheels (I think. lol), with the ferio spoiler. Oof. I'm in love

Re: Highly audible knock during acceleration and start-up... Now time to rebuild...

Right, I've been trying to price pistons and rods all day. It's not going to be any kind of dedicated car, it's still going to be my daily. I just want it to be able to handle a substantial amount of...

Re: Ignition turned on. right reverse light turns on solid

Make sure you don't have the switch too tight in the tranny. Replaced mine thinking it was bad, overtightened, ran around all fuckin' day with the reverse lights on lol.

Re: Use white lithium grease, or only motor oil, on a head bolt?

You need to understand that taps are only used to thread, re-thread, or change threads on boltholes. If you wanted to UP-SIZE the bolt, you first need to DRILL (with an actual drill bit) the hole out...

Re: My 1994 honda civic lx sedan check engine light stays on

No. it will not store ecu codes. Every time you do key-off, key-on, memory resets and the ecu goes through all the electrical connections to check for faults. If none are detected, the CEL will go...

Suspension mods to correct geometry when lowered?

Sometime this summer I plan to do an extensive overhaul of my suspension, and before I do that I will need new lower ball joints as mine are failing already. So I have been considering the option of...

Re: Soggy carpets? Help me end this nightmare!

Thanks, I just saw this. I read through the article and that TSB indicates that it would come in from the front of the car. I guess the only way is to tear the interior out. Not something I'm looking...

Re: 253k new for me car AC issues

Ron is right. It's tantamount that the system be pulled under a vacuum AND EVACUATED BEFORE adding refrigerant. And all of it should be done with a manifold gauge set so you can monitor both high and...

Soggy carpets? Help me end this nightmare!

Well guys, upon cleaning out my car the other day, I noticed that the floor pan on the passenger side of my 95 civic sedan EX was wet. Smelled like old, stale water (mildew, whatever). Went to...

Re: turbo with A/c pictures?

No he's talking about the greddy and edelbrock-specific cast pieces that bolt to the small turbo and connect to the downpipe. The greddy one is an odd-looking that makes the exhaust take a very sharp...
