Yeah definitely can't get the car in gear off or on. I can push the clutch down and see the clutch lever move on the transmission, so I'm assuming all is good there..

Would this be a situation...

Civic stays in Reverse no matter if in park or drive

I've got a 96 Civic with a d16y8 and Automatic setup.
The odd thing is that it won't go into Drive. It can stay in Park and you can hit the gas and it will go backwards. You can put it in reverse...

Well just to close out this thread, I finally got in the ECU. Purchased a new unit from AutoZone. - Got to get my Rewards points. ;)
Anyhow, plug the new ECU in and thing fired up so perfectly,...

Ok sounds logical. I'll run that last test and see what happens. And then looks like if results are positive from that test then the next thing to do is start seeking an ECU.

That is correct, first I turned the ignition key on, I unplugged the map sensor and tested the wiring harness. The White showed the .7ish voltage - it varied between .6 to .8
Then Yellow and Green...

Ok so I pulled out the ECU, checked the wiring harness basically the three wires that go back to the MAP Sensor.

The Green with Blue Stripe as Ground
The Yellow with Green Stripe - Shows 5volts...

Yeah definitely because the MAP sensor i tested with from the J-Yard keeps the Check Engine Light on all the time where as the one that was in the car did not. I'll trace out the White Wire shortly...

Yeah I've got a multimeter. I'll test out for shorts and opens in the connections tonight when I get home from work.

And I'll make sure I keep this updated.

oh ok.. Thats cool. Now dumb question but what is an "open"? I'm taking it that the wires isn't making contact. - but wanted to double check.

ehh.. No Actually had the wire harness disconnected from the MAP Sensor. I'll plug it in and check that wire again just to double check. Only take a few seconds.

Just saw your post on the ECu / Ground. I'll check out the ground to the ECU, is there specific wires going into the Relay that should show up as Ground from the ECU? -

Well I know this sounds wierd.. But I jumped the black with yellow and the yellow with green stripe and it kicked on the Fuel Pump. Which showed the fuel pump was good.
