Do you mean the transmission mounts to the engine or the trans mounts to the body? Do these tend to loosen over time?

I checked the motor mounts and could not find any problems.

I have Koni Yellows and they were adjusted fully soft and decided to firm them up a bit and noticed that the 'sound' was diminished...

Thanks for the reply. I did not really want to remove the motor mounts but will if you really think it could cause this type of clunking sound.

Regarding the LCA, the front bearing were replaced...

Thanks for the reply.

The compliance bearings are good there is no play loaded and unloaded.

The strut mounts are OEM

I concur with prodjay, bad ground or you have a incorrect wiring at the lights. Check to make sure you do not have any other strange behavior, for instance does the backup, brake and driving lights...

You did not mention what model car you have. A quick search for a DC/DC board on the googles yields something about keeping the alternator running in a hybrid when the car shut's down at a light.

I had a similar problem with my 03 EX 2DR. I would notice water on the a pillar, after I sealed the upper windshield gasket with urethane I have not had a problem

Did you check the CV joint boots, an obvious problem is the boots are ripped and the grease is gone?

Also use a pry bar to check for anything else that may be that may be loose bushings, ball...

Update, a few weeks ago I replaced the Koni insert, the front end is now smooth and noiseless. The insert is now back at Koni for analysis and hopefully a full refund...
