Re: Front brakes lock too easily

Well I should be able to figure something out after doing all that. Thanks for the thorough procedure. It makes sense to check those items piecemeal. I'll do that in the next few days and see what...

Front brakes lock too easily

The other night I almost rear-ended someone with my Civic when my front brakes locked up with moderate pressure in a light drizzle, and today I had to bear on them pretty good on a dry day and again...

Official Honda brake fluid

Hey there, I am getting ready to do the 60k on my '05 EM and flush the old fluid out of the brake system as part of it. I was going to go with the trusty Castrol that I have used for years, but the...

Air from defroster vents in floor position

Greetings, it's gotten to where I've been using my heater here in sunny Florida, and I noticed I get annoying air up in my face from the defroster vents when I have the unit in the floor-vent-only...

Here's one a little cheaper at Harbor Freight:

Re: 2001 Civic seat questions... halp!

Is it that you don't get enough lower back support? That's what I ran into in the seats of my Ody and I solved it by tearing the seat back down to the cushion and adding a small slab of foam to the...

Re: Strange brake squeak

At 63k miles I think you're looking at new pads! Have you taken a look at them? They should have at least a 1/16" left. If not you'll want to replace them as a set, left and right.

Power window relay bypass

As with all the Hondas I've owned, one of the first things I do, since I don't have kids that will play with them and strangle their BFF, is to bypass the power window relay so I can operate them...

Re: Anyone else regret buying their 01?

Just curious if these '01's are mostly US-made Civics. I've always wondered if there is any difference quality-wise between the Japanese cars and the ones made elsewhere. My previous two Civics...

Re: Air conditioning blowing fog intermittently?

chawski is right, if conditions are right, when the compressor cycles off and then back on, some of the humidity that the a/c evaporator removes from your cabin air is released back into the stream...

Re: Is my door ruined?

I feel for you supremebeing74, the same thing happened to me when I had just bought my '93 many years ago. I was messing with the radio in my garage without the parking brake on and it started...

Re: Dimensions of Trunk

I'm thinking an '05 has the same trunk dimensions. Can you be more specific? No, you can't slide a 4' x 8' sheet of plywood in there. :(

Re: Illuminated ignition switch

Thanx for the pic, I poked around the diagrams a little more and compared the part numbers for the LX and EX steering lock assemblies and yep, they are different. Don't think I want to spend ~$250...

Re: Illuminated ignition switch

I just haven't seen what the setup is on the EX or SE. Is it like a separate bulb that shines on it from the dash or a lighted ring around the key tumbler, like on my Odyssey? I've tried looking at...

Icon3 Re: VERY weird problem!! PLEASE READ! Poassible wrong filter installed at the dealers

LOL!! In case anyone's still subscribed to this, turns out Honeywell makes Fram filters, but probably paints them blue for Honda: http://www.fram.com/company/news.php

Re: Jack and tool storage

Yep, that's similar to the picture in my manual. I ended up bending the tab in the rear panel down a bit and then screwing the jack into it directly from the trunk floor. I would rather that and...

Re: Jack and tool storage

Thanks for the pic. I thought I felt around under there because that's where my old Civic had it, but felt nothing that seemed like a metal bracket. I'll check again today. Cheers.

Re: Jack and tool storage

Thanks, It Wasn't Me, did you buy your '02 used or new? I'm almost positive Honda being who they are that they mounted the jack somewhere. It's unlike them to just let it sit around. On my '93 the...

Jack and tool storage

Hi, I just bought an '05 Civic LX coupe from a dealer and found the jack and tools sitting around in the trunk but not attached to anything. On my old '93 the jack was mounted to a bracket welded...
