is this in boost or vacuum? just cruising w/ no boost i'd say thats pretty close on afr maybe a little rich if anything. did you do a leakdown test yet?

leak down test will determine the amount of pressure drop , if pressure drops dramatically there is a leak in that specific cyl, with that being said there...

just a thought but have you pressure tested the rad cap? maybe its not holding pressure and letting air back into the system? just another possibility

Boo hoo, lol ya give it a whirl then you know for sure. Also maybe the rad is blocked. I had the same problem as you in my crapalier when I had it. Turned out to be a plugged rad.

sounds like u are installing the thermostat backwards, also you can test a thermostat by submerging it into a pot of boiling water. you can visually see the stat open. then you willl know for sure,

Sounds like that's what I'm going to end up doing. I"ll get new pistons though so I can change the cr. while everything is apart I may as well change the bolts to arp and upgrade the valve train....

as far as the rods go, what kind of power can i make on a stock rod? ( stock with arp hardware)? i may just run a stock rod and lower my hp goal, that way i can just run my 18g and not have to worry...

It looks like the intake tubing is sitting on the dump tube. is it just the pic? if its sitting on the dumptube you will be pre-heating the air before it even gets into the turbo.

i want to keep the b17, if i was going to go to all the trouble of getting a new block and rods to do ls/v i would just as soon buy the crower stroker kit. another option is to just put in a b16...

its a b17, the only rods i can find are crower or pauter and both of wich are about 700, if you know of anything cheaper i'll be more than happy to save some money:thumbup:
