The last wire to get out of the way is the radio antenna. Just pull it out of the back of your stereo head unit. Now all your wires are cleared and you're ready to drop the steering...

The AC compressor is on the front *driver* side of the engine. Water pump is driven by the timing belt - your car would not run if this belt broke.

Correct - just to clarify even further, the YEL/BLK wires are +12V switched, NOT grounds!

Then you have a vacuum leak somewhere - IACV, brake booster, vacuum lines, intake manifold gasket, bent throttle plate, etc. You have a simple problem with a few potential causes - just methodically...

Are there coolant lines running from the engine to the heater core, or is the heater core bypassed? Is the coolant valve on the firewall opening when you turn the climate control knob to hot?

Unplug your IACV to see if it corrects the issue. Possible you wired it up incorrectly?

Just an update for closure - the IACV I used as a replacement had the same problem as the original one. I replaced it with ANOTHER junkyard IACV and now my car idles great.

I just replaced my IACV, and the second one I put on was bad. Third one was the charm. Go to a junk yard - they had 8 IACV's when I went last weekend, and they were $7 each.
