Question for you Skeeter seeing as you are a factory technician. What would you do for the 120,000 mile service on a 2003 Accord EX 4cyl (5 speed)? Do you follow the owners manual to the T?

Yep! So I thought we were good.. Took a trip to Canada to see some friends this past weekend. Burned a quart every 1,000 miles for sure. I don't get it! Got it stuck in my head that the Honda Dealer...

Not sure where else to go?? Have you tried to check for Vacuum leaks with brake cleaner or ether? If there is a vacuum leak it will increase idle for sure and then fall on its face.

Update: May have definitely been a stuck piston ring! Changed the oil and checked at 1,000 miles. It was about a quart low! I figured I would try and reduce carbon build up and sludge by using better...

I believe vacuum leaks can cause multiple issues that would include good idle and poor accelleration under load or poor idle and good accelleration under load. ??? You may be right that it isn't...

So just a quick tap on the pedal and it will shut off, but if you exceed that point it will come off of idle? I'm thinking for sure its a sensor related to throttle position or pedal postion.

I would think it is directly related to throttle position or Idle air control. How is that you can move the car if it shuts down as soon as you touch the gas?

Personally, I have never worried about the oil filter leaking because I do as you and only tighten by hand. Is your car leaking oil since the oil change?
