Re: EP build help

Why run GTL, You could run FP in road race and have plenty of folks to play with. GTL, will put you out there with some pretty fast Tube Chassis only type cars with more HP.

Re: Australian GSR

There is no way the rear link can dictate the position of the rear roll center. If you disconnect the rear upper and lower link, the control arm will pivot around the main trailing arm bushing, if...

Re: Australian GSR

Well done on the upgrades, especially the suspension mods. Very well thought out and executed.

I have a question for you on the rear suspension. You mentioned, based on your Susprog data, that...

Re: If you could.....

Give me a bit, I just got my new lathe and the shop is currently covered up. I still have to fix the runout in the chuck.

Re: If you could.....

You want the rear lower control arm slightly below parallel, because that will give you the most stable rear track width. With the arms pointed up like some of the radically lowered cars, you get...

Re: If you could.....

Back in the day with cars like the 914, 510, E30/E36, strut cars, you can move suspension components fairly easy. The Hondas are going to be a lot more work, because of the chassis structure...

Re: If you could.....

You would need to build a different upright. Look for pics of what they did with the BTCC cars. The pickup points were "more or less in the stockish locations", There is no stock knuckle that will...

Re: Del Sol rollcage advise

I would rebuild it. While you are in there cut the windshield off and run it as an open cockpit car. Move the cage bars out to the front of the cockpit, so you can get more leg protection.

Re: The Differential and the Front Wheel Drive Race Car at the limit...

Xtrac $$$-$$$-$$$$

I wonder if the VCP could be packaged in a Honda case?

Wonder who really developed the Corvette diff? Eaton?

Re: Pedal position and blipping the throttle

Look at upgrading the size of the master cylinder. That way the pedal doesn't have to travel as far to generate the same amount of fluid flow. I can tell you there is a difference between the 15/16...

Re: My roll center and Wheel rate calcuations....

The rear roll center should be located at the same height as the trailing arm bushing pivot shaft. The rear roll center isn't based on the position of the upper and lower control links. The...

Re: Pedal position and blipping the throttle

How much spacer do you have on the steering wheel? I have found that most production cars but the driver too far away from the wheel. in order to get comfortable arm placement you end up crunched...

Re: The Differential and the Front Wheel Drive Race Car at the limit...

Damn German traction control and drive by wire. Had a friend one time tell me he found out driving a GT3 that you can't do that either. It will kill the throttle if the brake is applied. Silly...

Re: The Differential and the Front Wheel Drive Race Car at the limit...

VW also used some sort of electronic scheme to avoid installing a diff in many of their cars. For the average Joe, electronic nannies can handle most of the instances. For the real drivers there...

Re: The Differential and the Front Wheel Drive Race Car at the limit...

Sounds to me like there would need to be an active diff to make the FWD work properly. Perhaps interacting with the ABS as well to slow wheel spin. Anyone know an F1 differential specialist?

Re: The Differential and the Front Wheel Drive Race Car at the limit...

I am going to try one of Steve's diffs. He and I talked on the phone one day about it. It should work well in my CG gearbox. Since there aren't a lot of options out there for the first gen Integra...

Re: The Differential and the Front Wheel Drive Race Car at the limit...

The problem with a locker is the same as a spool. The abrupt engagement will show up in the steering and braking. I have met a couple of folks who ran a welded diff in some Production and GT Cars. ...

Re: The Differential and the Front Wheel Drive Race Car at the limit...

The Xtrac VCP (Viscouse Clutch Pack) used back in the Supertouring days was probably the best design for a FWD.

Re: Roll bar advice HPDE EF

Yes the ST bar mounts to the rear holes where the tow hooks are. Unless you have an early 88 model from Japan you shouldn't have any issues. Hit me up if you are interested in the ST bar. I ship...

Re: Roll bar advice HPDE EF

Do rear sway bar, then find a B16 cable trans and install an LSD. AS for Tires, go to the Dunlop Z2 or Rival. Both of those are cheap enough and they have good performance for a non R-comp tire.
