Re: k20z3 destroked to 1.5L 200mph setup

its probably a class thing, breaking 200mph with a 1.6L or bigger is alot more common. along with that.........a destroking a k20 to 1.5L is going to give a stroke around 68.9mm. with that stroke...

Re: 190-200whp B18c1 Capable?

you can have the head shaved a bit to increase compression some.

Re: what else can i do to make my b16a faster?

because there is absolutely no need to change the fuel pressure at this point.

Re: what else can i do to make my b16a faster?

if you want to stick with the b16 then its pretty much ALL in the head. cams, port n polish, port-matching, and header are going to be the best places to start. if you are really serious and want...

Re: Head question?

x2, sharp edges pick up and hold heat. think about a scratch on top of the cylinder, perfect place for detonation/pre-ignition to happen.

if youve ever noticed there are no sharp edges exposed...

Re: Ls vs V-tech

if people are seeing increased wear with the acls then they have some other problem. oil flow issues, incorrect clearances, incorrect bearing type for the application, etc..........a plain bearing...

Re: Ls vs V-tech

the point of vtec is to basically have 2 engines. one is good on the street and as a daily driver(vtec not engaged).......good mileage, decent low end torque are what the low lift/duration lobes...

Re: main bearing clearence

no the notch does not keep the bearing from spinning, it is an alignment notch so you cant install the bearings backwards. what keeps the bearing from spinning is crush(someone said this before). ...

Re: main bearing clearence

i just want to make a slight change here.

the top layer of a main or rod bearing is the softest layer, this is to let any dirt particles embed down into the bearing and not stick up where it can...

Re: would i need a b16a injectors for my set-up?

ok im guessing you are looking for somewhere around 200hp at the crank, so the 310s should be fine. but i will stress SHOULD, thats using a simple online calculator. so its not gonna hurt to go...

Re: where to get cam degree equipment...

for the most part a degree wheel is a degree wheel, but bigger is more accurate. but dial indicators are definitely not made equal. personally if i am willing to put the money and time into a build...

Re: Not Another one of Those ' Think for ME ' Threads!

with that build id say you should be looking at somewhere in the 165-175 range to the wheels.......maybe even 185hp.

but the best part about it is that with vtec you wont have to sacrifice low end...

Re: Not Another one of Those ' Think for ME ' Threads!

i love an easy swap, so personally i like to stick with a complete motor swap. so if it were me id go with a b18c1. vtec.....so you get a decent dose of both worlds(low end torque and high end...

Re: cars and rocket science.. idea?

thats exactly what im talking about, header diameter and length is designed to maximize scavenging. they determine when and how fast the exhaust gases are pulled out of the cylinder. so with a fan...

Re: cars and rocket science.. idea?

also just for some added information, in a rocket engine, its not JUST about the nozzle diameter/thrust ratio.............there is a certain shape to the nozzle. so you would have to have that shape...

Re: cars and rocket science.. idea?

no i dont see any advantage to that setup............the ONLY advantage i see to a remote mounted turbo is lower exhaust temps at the turbine housing, lower temps is usually better........BUT im sure...

Re: cars and rocket science.. idea?

x2

a rocket engine and a turbine engine provide thrust in the same basic way.

Re: cars and rocket science.. idea?

except that a properly tuned exaust system is just that "properly tuned" so that its making things happen at the right time. a fan in the exhaust would create negative pressure(or at least lower the...

Re: VTEC KILLER CAMS VS SKUNK2 PRO3

ok, yeah thats what i was thinking, vtec killers were designed with extreme rpm in mind by reducing vt weight and getting rid of non essential moving parts.

Re: cars and rocket science.. idea?

OHHHHHHHHHHH WOW, yeah i completely overlooked the OPs question. can you make the exhaust push out with enough force to add to the forward force?

yeah not a very workable idea.

Re: High compression with low duration cam?

hmmmmmmmmmm, well 11.5:1 isnt all THAT high. so im thinking it wont be a big problem. i wouldnt go back to a stock cam, id go somewhere in between what you have and stock.

Re: VTEC KILLER CAMS VS SKUNK2 PRO3

what kinda track? strip? road course? autox?

for drag id say either will do, u dont need low end torque so if u have it fine, if u dont fine.

for road racing id say you can PROBABLY do...
