Re: Whats rods to buy?? and crank help??

Cheapest way out is get the crank reground (the machine shop will tell u how much and if it can be done to spec) and buy some ITR rods off ebay. If all else fails just use GSR rods 95% same thing if...

Re: what happened to these bearings?

LOL, some of u guys.. The coating that is on the journals is a nickle coating and the cranks can be reground to a max of .030" oversized bearing with no issues to spinning/spunning or much integrity...

Re: what happened to these bearings?

I would at least take it to the machine shop and let them check it as well, may just need to be polished back up. If u run ur finger over then journals and feel any indents then it maybe scrap. U...

Re: Oil Light/Pressure

Re: Oil Light/Pressure

There is alil oil restricktor in the back side of the block under the head, if that is missing it would cause a big internal oil leak. That's all I can think of that ur cousin is talking about.

Re: Oil Pressure: Mobil1 15w50 vs. Valvoline VR1 20w50

You want a simple answer, ^ just gave u one. If u have stock bearing clearances then stay close to stock recommened viscosity like he said. I have used 5w30 10w30 10w40 and 15w40 and the pressure...

Re: Oil Pressure: Mobil1 15w50 vs. Valvoline VR1 20w50

WOW, y would u judge the oiling capibilities based on pressure? I mean low oil pressure is bad of course and no pressure is worse but just because ur pressure is higher doesn't mean it's lubing or...

Re: what happened to these bearings?

Well since the rod bolts where just hand tight, I would say the the clearance was to big and the oil pushed out of the journals to fast and easy (internal oil leak) so it just didn't get proper...

Re: Oil Light/Pressure

I can't think of any valve in the oiling system that works like that, there is a pressure relief valve in the pump. It only opens when the pressure is 80+ psi tho. This is an odd situation, same...

Re: b20 vtec build and question

I would use the CTR intake cam and the ITR/CTR exhaust cam, those would make good power with out an absolute need to tune, however I highly recommend it with 11.8:1 CR and I would recommened a valve...

Re: Oil Light/Pressure

The OPG wouldn't mess it up unless u have a hole in the line and it is slowly pissing out oil but u should notice that (I would think). Haven't seen any fluid trails in the street, driveway, or in...
