Lubrication where portaman03 suggested? Thats it??? Any resource online on removing the boot/shifter to access the plastic?

I am having a similar issue except:
- it is hard to shift in/out of any gear
- the problem occurs only during rainy days... no kidding!!!
The gear is perfectly fine when the sun shines. Any...
