Re: gearbox selection

I currently have a GSR tranny on my LS/Vtec that will eventually be turbo. For driving around town its not bad. The low gearing helps with the lack of big power. However, I do drive my car home...

Re: "Super 60" for stock LS....300whp?

Given my power goals for a fast spooling setup, would it be better to go with a T04E than run higher boost on a Super 60?

Thanks

"Super 60" for stock LS....300whp?

I am building a LS-T for my EG hatch. I have been looking at a T3 Super 60 for a fast spooling street turbo. My goal is around 300whp but high 200's would be fine. I plan to run a full 3" turbo...

Re: will ceramic coating increase my spool?

I have no dyno numbers of before and after.... I haven't boosted my hatch yet. I used them on both my Rx7 builds in the past.

Maybe someone else could chime in on the use of blankets...

Re: will ceramic coating increase my spool?

Look into a turbo blanket.....

I have noticed a slight spool increase, as well as temp drops.

Re: 60-1 Power

ehh... I would say T67, but I have no experience with a 60-1. You could always go 40R...LOL But yeah, I understand you wanting to save cost.

Re: alternator question

The plug can be converted. A simple search have these results. You could also find an OBDII alternator and use it....

Re: needing advice

Tranny - You can try putting some GM Syncro Mesh in it. It is known to help with grinding. I have it in my GSR tranny and it definitely smoothed things up. You can get it at NAPA or of course a GM...

Re: Opinions on this setup.

x2^ I would highly recommend putting your built head on a GSR bottom end. More torque and more overall power.

Re: Removing a/c

What are your power goals?

I highly recommend keeping your A/C. There manifold and downpipe combo's that enable you to retain it.

Re: I just got a 99 Honda Civic Ex[EJ8]

If you are not wanting to boost then I would recommend a swap. NA D-series engines just don't make much power and the money you would spend on bolt-ons would simply be a waste.

Re: Turbo on a D series automatic

I figured as much when you mentioned not converting. I was referring to sp00ledbseries's statement.
