First thing I would check for is compression in each cylinder. I always check the hard items before digging into electrical or sensors.

i would swap radiator cap for a new one. its the only little odd thing i could see failing if not a small leak from the head gasket.

Yes it did. i was very worried at first to, but it cleared up after a while. do a quick compression test after another 20 miles and you should be good to go

did you use a lot of oil on the cylinder walls? to lubricate the pistons as they went into the block? if so it takes some time for it to burn off

+1 for James Mills. Had two motors tuned by him when i lived at Camp Lejeune. Nice little shop and very knowledgeable. Is he still located in Franklinton?

I currently run a BRMS ramhorn, had it for 3 years no cracks. the only downfall of it is they built the "hoops" a little to high which make it ALMOST impossible to run -10an bungs for a catch...

yes! when i bought my eg back in 06(lots of love) it had a aftermarket alarm that would randomly engage and wouldnt start. completely removed it and problem went away
