1.Break a old ring in half and use the edge of it to clean out ring grooves.

2.Fill up a bucket with a cleaning solvent or throttle body cleaner let them soak for a long time.

Check the specs on both fuel pumps. If the pressure and gpm specs are the same you should be able to use stock. But seeing on how the LS is a mpfi It should maybe have higher pressure than a dpfi...

CHeck your battery cable terminals. They can be loose, and not allow the stater to engage. Also check your battery fuse.

If it's out of the motor fill it full of assembly lube. Then when the motor turns it'll be primed instantly. IF it's already in the motor, your only choice is to crank the motor until you get oil...

Adjust your valve lash.There are no lifters. just rockers. 0.009" on exhaust vavles and 0.007" on intakes I do believe. Nice weld job though.

If you're working on an '88-91 Civic with idle fluctuation (particularly a dual-point injection model), check the throttle cable free play. The EACV has trouble...

If your timing is off yes that can cause problems. Always make an index mark prior to distributor removal. Get a timing light and time it. Then go from there. Any codes?

Not too difficult. You need to rotate the cylinder your working on to TDC and put air in the cylinder via air compressor so the valves don't drop. You most likely need piston rings instead of valve...

Very clean car! Esp for $900. I bought my ED for $800 and it was no where near as clean when I bought it as yours! It is now but before it wasn't. I'm here in Colorado where rust isn't a big issue...
