Re: I need help with an A/C job

Thank you for the very detailed explanation. I will follow your advise. When you say flush lines hoses, do you mean with water? or is there a special liquid to clean them?

Re: I need help with an A/C job

I'm guessing about 15oz since I can feel a bit left in the can. So my drier should be the cause of the high pressure in the low side? the refrigerant is not too bad since it's about $15, but I feel a...

Re: I need help with an A/C job

I have a vacuum and one of those manifolds with a gauge for each side and 3 hose connections at the bottom. I don't have what I would need to take the refrigerant out and store it. I see that the...

Re: I need help with an A/C job

The fan was kicking in and I could feel the change in the engine when the compressor would kick in. The only thing I replaced was the compressor. Do you think the high pressure on the low side could...

I need help with an A/C job

I have a 1994 honda civic ex with a 1.6 engine. The A/C compressor it came with had a huge hole so I replaced it. I vacuumed the empty system for about half an hour and then closed the gauges in the...

AC compressor compatability

I have a 1994 civic EX with a d16z6, but the AC compressor has a leak so I'm going to have to replace it. I came across a d16y8 from a friend and thought that might be compatible. Before even trying...

d16z6 compression question

I just tested the compression on my engine while it was warm and cylinders 1 through 3 were at 135 psi and the 4th was at 127 psi. I've read some post saying that's ok and some saying that it is too...

Re: Help with exhaust manifold

So I just got a used one locally since I need to pass this before the month ends. I'm still having the same issue with too much HC. I just got new spark plugs and I've double checked the gaps on...

Re: Help with exhaust manifold

Are those ebay headers reliable? Have you used them? I was thinking about getting a used stock one from a salvag Yard

Re: Help with exhaust manifold

Right my HC(ppm) at idle is too high so I'm suspecting the crack on the manifold to be the culprit. I know that ratchet was pretty cheap and too small for that anyways. I don't think that heating the...

Help with exhaust manifold

I just failed my emissions test on my 94 civic EX. As I was inspecting the car I've found a very small crack right by the O2 sensor on my exhaust manifold. I wanted to remove the manifold to replace...

Re: d16 aftermarket cam gears

Thank you every one for your responses. They were either informative or just fun to read. For those who are curious (if any one is), I ended up getting NGK G-Power sparkplugs and a Turtle Wax...

Re: d16 aftermarket cam gears

Thanks for the useful info. I've decided to keep it stock though. I don't even go over 3000 rpm lol. So if I understand correctly advancing the timing helps with efficiency in the lower rpms right?...

Re: d16 aftermarket cam gears

I started reading about it, I wouldn't try it before I got more information about it. I'm actually seeing a lot of conflicting information online about the ign timing and MPGs.

Re: d16 aftermarket cam gears

Haha I agree with you. The thing is I have like $50 ebay bucks and I already have my timing belt so I thought I'd buy a used one from ebay since I'm going to be changing the timing belt anyways. But...

Re: d16 aftermarket cam gears

Thanks for the advice. I have already removed my spare tire. I thought removing rotational mass would help like having a lightweight flywheel, I'm sure it wouldn't make as big of a difference as that...

how do you keep the muffler looking good?

I remember reading somewhere in here that if you rub some oil on the muffler it'll make it so it doesn't change color, is that true?
