I had a similar issue. I changed my slave and master and the problem is gone. You can order the parts thru http://www.rockauto.com. Its hard to get it thru local parts store.

First remove the outer tie rod. You can buy a puller to separate the outer tie rod from the control arm. Get a large plier from lowes that has a wide opening and use that to turn the inner tie rod...

Sometimes the wheel speed sensor is bad on but the ABS or Check engine light doesn't come on. I wouldn't rule out the wheel speed sensor. This should be easy to replace. Check the rotor thickness....

You can always get a used engine. Get a Japanese used engine. There are lots of place that import honda engine from Japan. I got mine from Patterson, NJ for $650. The engine is still running good...
