Re: INCREASED ride height on Koni Yellows/HR OE sports??

In what way would incorrectly installed forks raise the front of the car? The way the car drives actually feels fine, other than it being less firm up front than expected. I'd assume improperly...

Re: INCREASED ride height on Koni Yellows/HR OE sports??

The rear springs are marked with an R, and the fronts marked with an F. And I doubt they'd fit upside down.

INCREASED ride height on Koni Yellows/HR OE sports??

I recently had a set of H&R OE Sports installed along with Koni Yellows. They are advertised as giving ~.75" drop in ride height. Upon picking up my car, I found that the rear was indeed lower, but...

Opinions on Southern Indiana Honda specialists?

Hey everyone--right off the bat, I'd like to let you know I searched H-T forums before asking about the following topic, so as not to waste anyone's time.

I live near Bloomington Indiana and drive...

Re: Cleaning upholstery without altering interior's smell

Can you use a steam cleaner with distilled water only? Or will that cause mold to form later on? Is there something one can use which prevents mold but is scentless which could be mixed into the...

Cleaning upholstery without altering interior's smell

I like the way my 2000 Civic's interior smells: like polymers and cleanliness. There aren't any stains anywhere, but 11 years worth of dirt and dust IS nevertheless dulling the upholstery's...

Re: GSR rear sway bar needs EM1 brackets... but which bushings?

Every other forum says they're different sizes and that you need spacers to make the larger DC bracket fit on the Civic. So i can't see why the bushing's external dimensions wouldn't be...

Re: GSR rear sway bar needs EM1 brackets... but which bushings?

I would like to do that because it'd cure the understeer at low speeds, where it's most noticeable, but since I don't have money right now for excellent shocks/springs and upsized lightweight wheels...

Re: GSR rear sway bar needs EM1 brackets... but which bushings?

Wouldn't they have a hard time fitting into the EM1 brackets if they're of a different shape? I'm guessing that an additional 1mm of thickness doesn't preclude use of the Civic Si bushings and I'm...

GSR rear sway bar needs EM1 brackets... but which bushings?

I understand that I need the brackets and end links from an EM1 to fit a GSR sway bar onto my 2000 LX. But will the bushings and bushing straps (the C shaped piece of metal which holds the bar onto...

Re: Opinions needed on potential suspension set-up

Thanks guys. I've made the decision on H&R oe sports. I just need to know which shocks are best. I'm worried KYB GR-2s would be underdamped. I'm told Bilstein HDs would be overdamped but I'm not...

Re: Opinions needed on potential suspension set-up

What is the benefit? I've heard better things about Bilstein HDs vs Koni Yellows, but as the latter are adjustable, it's difficult to know how to compare the two. Is the Koni Yellow a monotube?

Opinions needed on potential suspension set-up

Here's the deal. I recently bought a '97 Civic LX (5-spd, of course!) and though the suspension is soft, the handling is a lot better than I expected given my experience with other Hondas (namely,...

CTR/EM1 front LCA benefits

I searched the FAQs and older threads. I did find some info, but no real answer to what the biggest benefits of switching to the 1-piece stamped front LCAs would be. I know they weigh less than the...

Re: Converting FROM r134a TO r12

I KNOW it's illegal. There's nothing wrong with the system; it's just not strong and never has been, as we all know.

Converting FROM r134a TO r12

My 2000 Civic's a/c is disappointing unless I'm moving quickly for a while, as most of you have also experienced. If I get access to r12, what would I need to do in order to charge my system and is...

What's the benefit of swapping in a cable trans?

I realize the cable trans offers slightly lesser weight and (possibly) better feel, but what else makes it worth swapping in a cable tranny? Or do ppl only do so in order to fit a good JDM...

Re: Simple pwr steer question; did search

No; not low. I changed it before in an 88 Saab 900. I'm very surprised how so many ppl recommend letting the rack run dry while changing it (if they don't have a vacuum tool); you should start...

Simple pwr steer question; did search

My power steering pump makes a slight hum whether or not I'm turning. The car has 150k miles on it; the steering's operation is perfectly fine. I know it's just worn but usually, they're almost...

Re: Common Problems, Recalls and Service Bulletins for '92-'00 Civics and del Sols

I just bought a 2000 EJ6 LX 5-spd with 150k miles. Nothing wrong with the motor but I would like to switch to synthetic because I do lots of city driving with the A/C on. I'm worried the switch to...

Re: Seafoam in a D16Y7?

I seafoamed my '96 Accord through the manifold. I didn't notice any difference. I did the same thing to my friend's '91 Corolla. It ran less well afterward, so I changed the spark plugs. It...
