I was going 20mph in my '98 Honda Civic and I wanted to shift into 1st gear because I was going down hill, but when I pushed in the clutch and tried to shift into 1st gear, it wouldn't let me. The...

Re: 92-'95 civic transmission same as '96-'00?

Re: WTB: Civic CX VX Transmission

Give me some prices, if it's low enough, maybe I'll buy both of them, and the one that works flawlessly I'll put into my car and the other one I'll just rebuild and resell.

Re: Does smog know what ECU you have? (Do they care?)

Oh, I know I could do that, I was just curious as to whether or not I'd fail immediately like I would if the car had no O2 sensor... Also what I really want to do is have an older Hondata compatible...

Re: Does smog know what ECU you have? (Do they care?)

See, why is that? How will they know if I'm using the newer or older ECU? The '96-'98 are suppose to be about the same aside from changes within the computer and a few other changes in the EVAP...

Does smog know what ECU you have? (Do they care?)

I live in California and I want to put the ECU from a '96 Civic into my '98 civic because the '96 gets slightly better mileage than the '98 and I'm 99% certain it is related to the ECU. So I was...

My idea for a build...

I was thinking of getting a D15Z1 head and sticking it onto a D16Y5 bottom end or D17A1 bottom end and using it with a D16Y5 ECU or D15Z1 ECU... I'd use the D16Y5 ECU for emissions testing but then...

Why reduce compression ratio to increase boost? (Lose benefit of CR)

I've come to understand that manufacturers have their turbo charged engines CR at like 8.5 and then run like 20psi of boost. For people with NA engines that weren't originally turbo'ed, they'll take...

Re: Variable exhaust timing allow for higher CR?

I just looked up dynamic compression ratio and while I was familiar with the term, I hadn't thought of it too hard. I specifically looked at this page:http://www.empirenet.com/pkelley2/DynamicCR.html...
