Yes and no. Vtec engages 4400ish, secondary butterflies open later, I believe around 6 or so.

My vote is save your money and fix your B16 back to a respectable state. I would try boosting your B16 and see if that makes you happy.

Why not just use the money you were going to spend on the mini me and spend it on some forged internals and run more than 6 psi. You'll make more power and why bother having vtec if your boosting...

Try the mini me out. It's a minor increase but I'd say that's the next step if you're not willing to go b-series or forced induction. For the cost of the parts you need, it may be the best bang for...

Try driving in third gear, around 60 km/hr and floor it. If your clutch slips, then you've got issues. If it doesn't it may just be your driving.
