Re: Toyota FT-86 / Toyota FR-S makes UK debut

That design was dropped by Toyota. Around the turn of 2010 Toyota announced it was going with the design by the US Calty design team and dropping the European teams submittal. So that red car is...

Re: Shortening an 8.8?

Just as a reference, my rear end from end housing to end housing is 50 1/4" wide.

Re: Shortening an 8.8?

What car did the 8.8 come out of? I got mine from a 95 Exlporer XLT so I ended up switching out the housing ends. I'll have to measure the total I had it narrowed, but basically it's narrowed to...

Re: wats better individual throttle body's or upgraded intake manifold w/big thrttle

For your current setup, both would be overkill. In order to take advantage of either setup you need to have some supporting mods, maybe the most crucial would be cams. Upgrading the exhaust would...

Re: OBX H23 ITB

The point wasn't missed. All I'm saying is that your argument was based on personal preference with absolutely no analytical data taken from actual honda applications. I won't except technical data...

Re: OBX H23 ITB

Well, just because you port a stock manifold does not decrease the length of the runner. The runners were not cut, they're the same length they were when we took the manifold off. Only mild porting...

Re: 96 lude UCA

I looked around and couldn't find OEM anchor bolts sold by themselves. Moog and ACDelco make adjustable anchor bolts that look similar to the Ingalls. If you don't have any luck jump on Ebay and...

Re: 96 lude UCA

You can't source the bolts from another part of the car...or another vehicle altogether? Measure the inside diameter of the bushings hole and find a bolt that will fit. Just make sure you get the...

Re: 96 lude UCA

What about getting a prothane/energy suspension bushing for the UCA's. The bolt should be available by itself from Honda or at a junkyard. You shouldn't have to buy the whole kit.

Re: OBX H23 ITB

What do you mean by "out perform"? This is one thing that always irritates me when people talk about the "performance" increase with ITBs. You're not going to get a horsepower boost with ITBs. In...

Re: OBX H23 ITB

After further inspection, it appears to be the H22 OBX ITB auction pictures that are incorrect. Most show the ITBs with the H23 water port which is slightly offset to the right and down of runner 4....

Re: OBX H23 ITB

It wouldn't be too hard to make some custom screen filters for these. You would only need two sets of velocity stack gaskets.

Re: OBX H23 ITB

What exactly in those pics gives you the indication that it will not fit an H23?

The Water port is to the right and slightly down like on an H23 and there is the protrusion to block the EGR to the...

Re: New Toyota FT-86 pics and info. Production version rumored to be at Geneva autosh

Price is going to be kept down b/c there isn't anything new going in. They're using a Subaru boxer engine, a reworked Subaru 6-speed trans (for RWD only), drive-shaft, and Subaru rear diff. I don't...

Re: Vibrant Performance timing belt tensioner without power steering relocation

The ignition timing should not change, because you're not changing the alignment of the cams (unless you put so much tension on the belt that you pulled the cams out of alignment. The Vibrant...

Re: Johns S2K Powered AE86 -= JSP PERFORMANCE=-

There are still several Toyota purists in the AE86 scene. More and more engine swaps have been gaining popularity, both from within the Toyota line of engines and from outside.

3SGE, 3SGTE,...

You did not ask anyone in particular, initially, and your post followed one that was more facetious than serious. So how were we supposed to take your comment. As one of jesting or one of serious...

Re: Johns S2K Powered AE86 -= JSP PERFORMANCE=-

I would prefer the shifter moved back those 4 inches. In my GTS with the stock tranny I always felt like I was reaching to get it into 3rd and 5th gear.

Re: Vibrant Performance timing belt tensioner without power steering relocation

He never said the cams and valve train were creating the extra slack. The long span between the crank gear and the exhaust cam is causing the slap. I've seen the car in person. With the aggressive...
