Re: question?

You'll get more response to your question if you give it a more informative title than "question".

My answer to your question is, I doubt it very much, but don't know for sure.

Re: My motor feels like a mount is broke

Rough check,
handbrake off, place in 1st gear (or park), vigorously push car back and forth and watch how the engine moves. It will rock back and forth and some motion is normal, but if it looks to...

Re: Tires on different wheels. I might be dumb

Nearly all the tyre manufacturers seem to specify 6" as the ideal rim width for a 195 tyre, with 5.5" being the minimum permissable. 7" is usually the maximum permissable rim width for a 195.

Re: engine damper

Well, you don't specifically detail what problem you are having doing this, so it's hard to offer advice. To limit engine movement I would think that harder engine mounts (particularly the rear mount...

Re: what wheels can be polished?

Why? A highly polished finish requires a perfect surface free from undulations etc, or else it looks absolutely awful. The vast majority of polished wheels I see have ripples and hollows, high and...

Re: engine damper

Is this a harmonic crank damper? If so I'd only use a stock Honda item, or an aftermarket item from a very trusted source. If a cheap one fails that may not be a very good thing...

Re: Pistons for Accord

Buy or borrow a book (or two or three...) on the subject. Seriously, you'll learn more than on an internet forum where to sift the wheat from the chaff you really need to understand the fundamentals...

Re: Please help steering/suspension problem

Clunking in all probabilty = CV joint.

I've had a tyre bubble that caused an intermittent vibration, but it wasn't random, more speed related, i.e. at low speeds it was obvious but disappeared at...

Re: Ride too bouncy, what to do?

Stiff spring + soft damper setting = bouncy ride.

Stiff spring + stiff damper setting = stiff / harsh ride (but not bouncy).

Re: Please help steering/suspension problem

You may be right, the tyre may not be the cause, but you have a known defective part (tyre) with the sort of defect that is known to cause a steering wobble / vibration (bubble, whether in the tread...

Re: Please help steering/suspension problem

A bubble in the tread is very likely to be the cause. And, it's dangerous, seriously. Put the spare on now (I mean before you drive the car again).

I was thinking CV joint until you said...

Re: Ride too bouncy, what to do?

Stiffness and harshness are quite similar but not exactly the same. Most of the harshness we feel with 'stiff' suspension set ups comes from higher damper rates, not so much from the springs...

Re: Ride too bouncy, what to do?

The Konis can be revalved for stiffer bump damping, and this can even be adjustable if you can / want to pay the extra.

The softer the spring relative to the damper stiffness the less 'bouncy'...

Re: My car starts shaking once I hit 150mph

How old are you? Obviously too young (and / or lacking the imagination) to comprehend that at 150mph (or even speeds very substantially less) there is no such thing as a reasonably controlled...

Re: Trying to burp coolant, am I doing it wrong?

I never bother chasing the last little bit of air, in my experience it self bleeds into the expansion tank, and coolant is then drawn back into the system. Never had a problem...

Re: adding a few cc's

The cubic capacity is dictated purely by the bore diameter and the stroke, so if you can get it to work with the longer stroke (without falling apart) it will be a "proper" 1.5 litre engine (there is...

Re: consequences of over inflating tire than recommended PSI

P,
"faux Brits"... in Australia, people have died for less!!

I learned to drive on cross ply tyres (I'm 49), and raced on them (karts).

You say; "decreased traction on marginal surfaces"....

Re: adding a few cc's

The issue (one issue) will be how high are the top piston rings at TDC. They would have to be below any gasket, at the highest right at the top of the original block casting. If the piston tops then...

Re: consequences of over inflating tire than recommended PSI

P,
When was the last time you actually saw a tyre worn significantly more in the centre than at the edge or edges? Last time I saw it was years ago on cross ply tyres (aka bias belted).

Steel...

Re: Ride too bouncy, what to do?

So long as the spring will fit in the damper then it should be fine so long as you can adjust ride height and have suitably rated new front springs. You will be more at risk of a bouncy ride with...

Re: Ride too bouncy, what to do?

Koni yellows ('Sports') are not particularly stiff in bump (which is non adjustable in stock form), but are very stiff in rebound near the full stiff setting. If the damper is adjusted very stiff...

Re: What kind of tires should I buy

I have stock CB7 wheels (and a limited car budget...), and it's very hard to find good rubber in 195/60/15. Almost no 'performance' tyres come in this size, but, BFGoodrich G-Force Sports do, and...
