^^^^ wrong! usdm 88-91 civics used a 4-1 (or collector) style exhaust manifold (with the down pipe being a single pipe)
jdm zc sohcs used a different 4-2-1 style (using a 4-2-1 2 peice header style...

i still feel high MPG can be made (and easier) with a more powerful engine... the trick is the way you drive it.. smaller low power engines need to work harder(use more fuel) to get your car rolling...
