I haven't heard of timing affecting something like that. Check you're tps, map sensor, transmission module, fuel pressure... Anything that would need or transmit info (voltage signals) to the ecu.

check the lines and caliper. If you take it off and it retracts easily then check the rubber brake hose and metal lines.

well ctr cams are bigger. They might be idling rough because its letting in a lot of air and out alot of exhaust gas and the scavenging effect is not as strong. Could be issues with ignition and fuel...
