Re: 1999 Honda Accord V6 hopps

If it is hopping bad, your trans may not be saved. The easy thing to do is to change the fluid, use genuine Honda trans fluid. It made a big difference on my 96 Accord Ex. The little hopping improved...

Re: HOW-TO: Oil Change

I would suggest that to add 'check for old filter rubber ring, make sure it is not still sticking near the drain plug.' It happened to me and oil shot out to my entire driveway. lol.

Re: ABS And Cruise Control

I can tell you a little bit about the ABS light. After you start your car, you porbably hear a huming sound from the ABS pump right under the hood (mine is on the passenger side). Once the sound...

Re: Help with fuel problems

Hi, Tywe,

I learned something new. Thanks for your post. I guess the difference of your car trouble from the other classic 'intermittent no-starting', 'die while driving' is that 'the tug and...

Re: Help with fuel problems

Honda's fuel pump rarely failed. Your test was a good one imo.

The title of your thread probably caused some experts in this 'no-starting, die driving' to not opening your post.

If I had to...

Re: Help with fuel problems

There are many threads with main relay, ignition switch, or igniter problems which can cause intermittent failure like yours.

Re: Oil light on old accord at idle...

Couple things you can try if your car has not died permanently already (meaning your oil pump failed and your motor is gone). lol. Oil light with my 96 EX 6 cyl was on and off while running.

1....

Re: Speedometer and mileage don't work. Can someone help?

IAN1006 on this thread gave the best advice. Try buying a used cluster and replace just the speedometer circuit board (carefully, no wires involved, kind of fragile). If it doesn't work, try...

Re: Honda Idle Problems

Following pics show you how to clean the IACV. It's for Integra, but my 96 EX's IACV is at exactly the same location. 15 minutes job. You spend more time in soaking it in cleaning solution. Ok, 1...

Re: Radiator Fan Problem

You may have air bubbles in your coolant. Try bleeding the cooling system.

Re: Replacing AC condensor/Drier

There is also A/C relay, pressure switch, etc which are relatively cheap to replace and could cause the problem you describe.

Mine is a 96 Accord EX 2.7L non-vtec. Had the same problem since last...

Re: 2000 honda accord ex v6 missing- P Adams

There are a few gurus on this site who can answer all your questions step by step. Especially P Adams, who seems to have less frequent this site lately.

Re: 97 EX idles low & vibrates

I had a similar problem like yours with my 96 accord ex 6 cyl non-vtec. I clearned the IACV and it idled back from 500 to 750 rpm and stayed there since last summer. Following link of how to do it on...

Re: 97 Accord EX: ABS Modulator Controller Install

It does sound like it's your sensor(s). You can try cleaning them first. They are mounted right next to the left side of your brake pads. It worked for me for a few days and then went right back to...

Re: 97 Accord EX: ABS Modulator Controller Install

I'm no expert on ABS but I'll tell you what I know. My 1996 accord ex 6 cyl non-vtec's ABS light is on and still on. The brake fluid level was low and the modulator had air in it. I bled it from the...

Re: How do you put a tachometer on 2001 honda accord?

I'm not sure about the 2001. I can't imagine it's all that different than my 1996 6 cyl ex. You have to take the cluster out and drop the new tach in. There are no wires. The circuitry are all in the...

Re: Car shakes at red lights???

Try cleaning the IACV first. It is easy to do. Follow the following link. Honda 5th gen is almost exactly the same as Integra. It can't hurt.

Re: heater problems

It sounds like the fan. The black thing behind the glove compartment is where the fan located. It may have gotten stuck with something fell in there or the fan is on its way out.

Starting to Troubleshoot: 2000 V6 Accord starts then dies

It's probably the main relay. My 96 EX 6 cyl had a similar problem. In a problem day, the car starts and dies right away. I could re-start it after I hold the key with the gas-pedal down almost...

Re: Gas mileage V6 tips advice? (69GTOby)

I have the exact same car now at 230,000 miles on it. I get about 24-26 mpg. My wife did mostly highway driving though. Try cleaning the IACV also, that should give you better idle and better start...

Re: Instrument cluster. (LOLO93PRELUDE)

Did you actually get to the point where you saw the 4 screws holding the cluster to the back dashboard? I just fix my 96 ex 6 cyl with a used speedometer from ebay. You can try solder the joints of...

Re: (pjr710)

Drain it. But no need to take the drain plug all the way out. Un-screw just enough so that oil can slowly drain to the correct level.
