Sounds like you are maxing out MAF sensor .
Do you have some kind of fuel management ?

Re: Pressure when removing oil cap

Re: Pressure when removing oil cap

A engine in good shape will have a vacuum on oil cap from PVC system. If your feeling pressure it probably blowby or a PVC issue . you are getting excessive crankcase pressure as other post mentions....

Re: Thinking of buying a 2008 Accord

They do have short lived rear brakes . That is known for all 08-09 with stock pads (Honda has made numerous revisions ).

On a whole asking if any problems really won't work to good in forums cause...

First when starting in cold weather turn on key to II position and wait a sec or 2 then crank, what this does is let fuel pump time to prime fuel...

Re: Engine cranks but wont start. Bad programming?

I think your going to need a mechanic as you have no reference from when the car was last in running condition .

Ok , that said I would go back to basic's (fuel, ignition, cranking)

Re: 2008 Accord 4 cyl oil consumption issues???

So roughly your using over 1 qt in 3 weeks , how many miles is that approx ?
thats sounds bad and if plugs not oil fouled it might be bad exhaust valve seals . either way will need to be checked .

Re: 2008 Accord 4 cyl oil consumption issues???

On the oil , you might want to monitor how many miles till 1 qt usage .

If that seems high maybe try a good blend or dino 5w-20 instead of 0w-20 and see if that has any affect .

Re: 2008 Accord 4 cyl oil consumption issues???

yes, that is the issue with bad VTC actuator , car needs to stand for hrs so oil drains out of VTC systems .

Re: 2008 Accord 4 cyl oil consumption issues???

That startup noise is probably the VTC actuator (intake cam sprocket ) the locking pin not locking right . If the noise is still there at startup with full oil level .
There a TSB (TSB 09-010 ) on...

Re: 2008 Accord 4 cyl oil consumption issues???

If its not leaking then its burning the oil, only 2 it can be .

Re: 2008 Honda Accord V6 Cylinder 3 misfire.

On spark plug covered issue, if what caused the miss fire is some other issue...

Re: exhaust cam lobes galling/pitting

I would tend to agree , my guess is it was some bad cam manufacturing either in hardness or material spec .
These are roller cams so oil weight being thin I don't see that, its not like there going...

Re: What should the vacuum measure at idle?

I don't know values for 3.0 V6 but in general a gauge reading of steady needle of 17-21inch is general good reading .
Smaller engines tend to go toward lower end and bigger V8 tend to be in upper ....

Re: 05 accord k24

not sure how your cylinder walls got scorned but i bet oil dilution is from blowby of top rings, fuel byproducts getting into oil .
The oil rings are suppose to keep right amount of oil film on...

Re: I-Vtec Controllers

The K24Z3 used in gen8 and gen2 TSX does use vtec (3 lobe cam) on intake side , unlike older Accords that didn't .

OP , yes that will work as it only needs a 12v signal to trigger the solenoid on...
