Re: d16 rod bearing replacement- in car. Is it possible?

next question is: is it easier to go out the top or though the bottom? I've done head gaskets on a GM 3400 (note: 3400s are either bombproof or total junk. I dunno why.), and swapped axles on my...

Re: d16 rod bearing replacement- in car. Is it possible?

if I found anouther y7 I think it'd be the way to go. I know there's some at the pik-a-part. Just need to find one that got rear ended or something along those lines.

d16 rod bearing replacement- in car. Is it possible?

So my civic, at 200,500 miles sounds like there's gravel in a blender. It's served well as the econonbeater Honda engineered it to be, and I'm wondering if it's possible to replace the rod and...

Re: My 09 PPM Element SC

Mugen= to Honda what M is to BMW, SS is to Chevrolet (well, the functional ones. Disregard the S10 SS), etc. Not normally sold here in the USA. To my understanding Mugen leaves the engine alone...

Re: Where to get stronger u-joints??

I like Dana-Spicer (often just called Spicer) u-joints. Get the greaseable type (the "heavy duty" ones are solid, and non greaseable. If water/dirt gets in there, it's in there. The greaseable...

Re: CIVIC SRT-4 SWAP DYNO

I think it's pretty slick. Those engines were sick back when they were new, and are still among the most powerful four bangers out there.

In stock form, it was okay... didn't feel anything...

Accord 177hp 2.4 vs 2.4 190hp

So... just playing around "building" new cars, I build myself a couple of Accords (one base model as a transportation appliance and one with a few more goodies). In this I notice that the Accord EX...

Re: economy mods: 1997 Civic

You're right- most of the time.

Direct fuel injection (it was in production in aircraft engines in world war 2) is about the only thing that's come along that improves both power and fuel economy....

economy mods: 1997 Civic

So, the wife has a 2007 Saturn VUE, now I drive her 1997 Civic LX automatic. The brown car- my beloved 1992 Accord, got traded in. I left a note in the coin holder in the dash and a couple weeks...

Re: Running Rich or Lean ?

I found the dizzy shaft under the rotor to have some corrosion on the Accord I had, taking some emery cloth to it and cleaning it up did wonders in helping it run right. Before that, it seemed to...

Re: (MooGoCow3)

Those old Sami's are set up with off roading in mind. They didn't sell well (for obvious reasons they didn't fare well with the grocery getter set), but are a cult classic, much like the Jeep...

Honda Civic Automatic Tranny questions

So I have my 97 Civic LX auto, 174,6xx miles. It's just a transportation appliance so it's all stock, unless you consider a cd player and 'salty road lightening holes' starting to form by the rear...

Re: Accord Brake Question

I'll give it a shot. As someone mentioned using ceramic brakes, I like using a name brand of brakes (raybestos and wagner for a dd duties, hawk or ebc or brembo for performance).

Whoever figured...

So I'm in the process of (attempting) to replace the front rotors on my 92 accord. I have the axle nut off, and the four bolts that hold the hub to the brake disc.

I found this excellent how-to...

Re: d16y7 failed smog due to spark plug?

Re: stalling and blowing white smoke

If you have a crack in the exhaust manifold, you may as well upgrade to a quality header. I didn't have any excessive smoke issues with a Pontiac I removed the cat with, but I had a 02 simulator...

Re: new cams -- now distributor won't fit
