Re: ^^ 1998 Civic Coupe EX: How do I know if A/C Compressor is BAD?
The hissing sound is the sound of refrigerant sizzling inside the evaporator as refrigerant remaining in receiver gets pushed forward until the pressures on both sides are equalized.
The vent...

Re: ACs effect on MPG?
The effect of temperature setting depends on how its accomplished. On some cars with advanced climate control, it does so by raising evaporator pressure by reducing refrigerant flow. This type of...

I'm saying that they won't have the same vapor pressure, because their PT are completely different. Expansion valve fill gas is always the same gas as the system refrigerant. Automotive, building...

It wouldn't hurt to remove the connection, clean it up with steel bristled wire brush, add a drop of oil and put it back together. If you find bad corrosion you might actually have to grind off the...

Re: Help with blowing 20amp Wiper Washer Fuse
Ok, I didn't mean actually dismount it. I meant disconnect electrically, so just pull the harness as close as you can to the pump.
If that resolves it, its likely that the pump is shorted.
If it...

re: ***Air Conditioning - A/C Guide, How it Works, and When it Doesn't***
The reason it's not present on every TXV is that engineer deemed that pressure drop across the intended evaporator is not great enough to warrant it. It's better to not have it when its not needed,...

Re: Help with blowing 20amp Wiper Washer Fuse
Sounds like something is shorted. Remove the washer fluid pump, then repeat. If it still blows, you probably have pinched or chaffed wires somewhere.

Re: Idle Air Control Valve / supposed to have constant signal??
Don't mess with the throttle body set screw. That's not idle screw. It will, but it isn't supposed to be changed to adjust idle.
IACV is always getting signal when you're at idle. It's a...

It seems fine. Headlights draw about 10A/pair and radiator fans can draw 15-30A.
Add another 15A if you're running climate control fan on full. Having all those on at once pretty much puts...
