Re: Do People Steal the Really Low-End Civics?

The immobilizer in the S2000 was all but worthless.

Do People Steal the Really Low-End Civics?

I just picked up an 05 DX VP which is almost the bottom of the barrel and I'm wondering if I need comprehensive insurance due to theft risk. After having an S2000 stolen and stripped, I'm a little...

Re: How to Make Acceleration Smoother?

I tried that. Got an s2000 and it was stolen and chopped up after 2 months. I doubt anyone would steal my shitty prelude, so at least I don't have to worry about that.

How to Make Acceleration Smoother?

I've got a 97 with 171K on it and other than the fact that it drinks oil, it's fairly dependable. Anyway, the acceleration is kind of choppy. If you try to accelerate there are usually a few slight...

02 Idle Question

Hi, I had a CEL come on and pulled the codes P1301 and P1399. I cleared the codes this morning and did some driving at lunch and after and it hasn't come back on, but I'm sure it will in the next few...

Re: AP1 or AP2

It's like a GD monsoon out here for 6 months. My parents are an hour away and they get an avg or 74" of rain a year and have really windy roads. Seemed like a good idea for when I go out there.

Re: AP1 or AP2

I just picked up an 02 with 43K on the clock and I love it. I'm guessing with how much it rains here I should have held out for an AP2 for the traction control, but it's probably better to just not...

Re: Anyone Have Luck with Studded Tires?

Hmm, that's all pretty interesting. Everyone up here leaves their studded tires on forever, so I assumed that they were helpful. Must just be for when they go up to the mountains and they're too lazy...

Re: Blind Spot and Hard Tops

I just picked up an 02 and I would rather freeze my ass off than have the soft top up. I'm going to need to get an OEM HT soon.

Anyone Have Luck with Studded Tires?

I was thinking about picking up an extra set of wheels cheap and getting some studded tires for them, but I'm wondering if anyone here has done it before and found it worthless or what. I'm in the...

Re: oil change then check engine light on

Isn't this the code that's thrown when you mis-shift at high rpms and get bent valves?

Re: New Flywheel with First Clutch Job?

So most machine shops can do this no problem? You don't have to take it somewhere special?

Re: Beginning Of A Failure Part 1

I'm definitely pretty ignorant about such things, but doesn't such a high compression engine blow from this with stock internals? Or is the headgasket enough to lower it?

New Flywheel with First Clutch Job?

Little over 40K on an AP1 and replacing the clutch with an OEM one. I'm wondering if anything needs to be done to the flywheel or if I can just replace it in another 40K or however long this clutch...

Re: Transmission issues.

Cheapest thing to do would be to double-clutch, second cheapest would be to change the transmission fluid and put Honda genuine MTF in it from the dealership. If you can't do it, they'll probably...

Re: CEL on 01 prelude

You can go to an auto parts store and they'll do it for free sometimes or let you borrow an obd2 scanner.

Re: Tranny Shop Couldn't Fix 5th Gear Grind

I'm prolly gonna double-clutch from here on out and try not to think about it. Hopefully the cc company can twist the guy's arm into crediting me for the part he F'ed up. I don't think I wanna go...

Re: Tranny Shop Couldn't Fix 5th Gear Grind

Double-clutching seems to stop the grind, does that mean anything?

Re: Tranny Shop Couldn't Fix 5th Gear Grind

All of those parts are listed on the invoice as having been replaced. I even gave the guy that Honda bulletin.

Tranny Shop Couldn't Fix 5th Gear Grind

Clutch went out out of town and I had my 97 base towed to a local transmission shop and the guy said fixing the grind would be no problem. 1300 bucks later and it still grinds at pretty low rpms...

Re: 5th Gear Grind After Gear & Synchro Replacement

So if he left the 5th gear shift fork in there and it has started to grind, does that mean that the synchro and gear are already F'ed or can he go in there and replace the shift fork and it will be...

5th Gear Grind After Gear & Synchro Replacement

Hi, I had a clutch go out completely near my parents' house (middle of nowhere) and I had it towed to a local transmission shop. He volunteered to fix the 5th gear grind which he said was a bad...
