Re: What's wrong with my fully built H22a prelude..

I do not think that fuel is the problem in the OP situation, but it needs to be clarified here that fuel ratio alteration does create power. Leaner conditions cause a faster flame front and higher...

Re: What's wrong with my fully built H22a prelude..

could you explain why that is?

Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure that the fuel curve has A LOT to do with power. Brake effective pressure should be at its max (power) while the fuel...

Re: I'd like to know which is the correct way for Head gasket install?

on the bottom picture, the gold ring on the left would not sit flush when the HG is torqued down and cause a deflection in the gasket.

Re: bb6 exhaust question

Don't leave biased information and explain your reasoning. Instead of some guy saying that a 4-1 is better and the OP ends up losing power.

Re: bb6 exhaust question

Oh yeah? How'd you come to that conclusion? A guy told a mechanic that told your friend that said something like that to you, so it's uh, true. Tri-Y headers have different characteristics than a...

Re: slow cranking

3rd set of plugs. I checked spark, grounded the plugs to a ratchet on the valve cover, 4 were ok. fuel is good, rail pressure is clean, ~44psi.

Re: slow cranking

bump. still having this issue. Ran a new battery and starter, got a little faster crank, and about 25psi of oil pressure, but it won't run.

Re: What's Missing in these pictures?

Just because it is a hole, it does not necessarily mean that something needs to fill it.

Re: slow cranking

I can turn it over with a wrench. There is the usual resistance from the cam lobes, but aside that, it turns nicely. Has anyone had this problem with a newly built motor?

Re: slow cranking

It fires as it turns, just too slowly to get it to idle speed. I cleaned the grounds, even tried different ground wires. No luck there either.

Re: slow cranking

Yeah, it's good and so is the alternator. Timing belt and alternator are the only belts on the motor.

slow cranking

I got the motor back from the builder and everything is back in. I hand cranked it while the timing belt was put on, and it turns like normal, maybe a bit harder.

Now that the battery is back in...

Re: Did i blow my ringlands...again!?

The only other thing that could get oil into your cylinder is if it came from the head or the intake. Check your charge piping and see if your turbo seals are gone. Run a leakdown and then your...

Re: Spal 13" fan

I am sporting the 13" and I love it. I need to get it shrouded, but it is already doing the job. When it comes on, you can hear it, but it doesn't vibrate the whole car or cause the electrical to...

Re: h22 all motor throttle body.

There is no "best" throttle body for any N/A setup. A proper throttle body allows the best flow and provides good throttle response. A throttle body that is too small will cause restriction and...

Re: Help diagnose this piston failure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but lean conditions cause hotter cylinders and melt pistons. Too much timing also increases cylinder pressures, but the consequences are usually catastrophic (i.e. snapped...

Re: Tuners ...picky about setup???

Gee, I wonder why. No matter what fuel pump you use a tuner should IMMEDIATELY cut the throttle if the mixture leans out. If he blew an engine because he wasn't watching the wideband, then I would...

Re: H22a Missfire, all new ignition system

First verify that each cylinder is actually sparking. Pull the plugs and ground the threads and see if a spark jumps during cranking. While you have the plugs out, one at a time, check them for...
