If your concerned, either fabricate a small heat shield on the exhaust side or use a heat barrier. Heatshield products ( and Im sure others offer this) offer "HP shield", which would work nicely on...

I retract my previous statement... I was thinking of Methanol, rather than Ethanol, which is not very corosive in nature ( no more than tap water).

V bands are measured from the ID of flange. 2.5" flange slips over a 2.5" tube. Aftermarket V band clamps and flanges are fairly standardized now.

I'll have to dis agree with that statement...

I have used both a Lincoln PT series ( transformer) and a Dynasty (Inverter), and noticed the inverter machine gave much more control over the weld...

I have noticed 5356 seems to make for a much more pleasing weld, and 4043 ( believe thats the one Im thinking of) seems to leave a slight texture to the weld. I personally use 5356 on most...

The above posted picture... Might have got a clean weld with a little prep work first on the aluminized ( stripping the coating to bare).
