go to your local store and get an extractor set, it'll probably be cheaper than any machine shop, and the extractor sockets are sweet to have on hand for the next stubborn bolt you come across.

don't need to pull the starter.. just to the right of the starter there is a black rubber plug, pull it out and align the plus sign on the indicator, that is TDC

replace that knock sensor, when the ecu throws a knock sensor code, it goes into limp mode, causing it to run like crap.

the 3k hesitation is commonly caused by plugged EGR ports. Another possibility is the Ignition control module, but i'd start with cleaning the EGR ports cuz it's a lot cheaper than a new ICM

tire diameter won't affect your speedometer though. if you're at 3K@60 (indicated)mph; with larger diameter tires you'll still be 3k@60 (indicated)mph but the actual speed will be higher than 60.

it should keep your settings when unplugged.. at least mine does..

sensor in/out should both be at 6

Leave all your fuel settings at "0" until you tune it, or get it tuned.

use honda mtf or gm synchromesh. don't use motor oil, the synchro's don't like it
