Re: eg hatch temporarily lost brake pressure?

I don't mean to argue man. My post should've read:
If you pump the pedal with the engine off, then keep pressure on the pedal when starting the engine, the pedal should fall slightly an inch or so...

Re: Clutch Problems

Have a friend check it at the transmission with the clutch depressed. Do you get full travel? I bet you just need to adjust the clutch pedal a bit. Try turning the adjustment rod clockwise.
Look...

Re: eg hatch temporarily lost brake pressure?

Not exactly. If you pump the pedal with the engine off, then keep pressure on the pedal when starting the engine, the pedal should fall slightly... not to the floor.

Re: the 3 ground cables on the eg tranny...

Pics would help, but I'm sure as long as the thick gauge ground wire is attached to the chassis you'll be fine. Just attach the final ground to wherever will reach.

Re: 93 Del Sol D16z6 boggs/stalls can't drive home unless it sits.

My bet would be the ignition coil inside the distributor is getting hot. If fuel pressure is a problem, the engine will hesitate and jump, not just bog. TPS would not be affected by heat.

Re: eg hatch temporarily lost brake pressure?

Test your brake booster.
Pump the brake pedal with the engine off, then hold it in place. Now start the engine with your foot on the pedal. If it drops slightly, then your brake booster is good....

Re: Heater will not blow anything but luke warm air

I'm not sure what else it could be, other than maybe a faulty thermostat or a slightly plugged/corroded heater core.

Re: No steering returnability/ play in wheel

Checked the bushings at the rack yet? If the wheel doesn't return to the same spot it was, as in when returning to center, the bushings could be suspect.
But if there's play in the wheel, just...

Re: What Should I Do To My Car Next?

What's the deal with the fogged out back window? Any water leaks?

Re: Car "wanders" while driving

Raise the front of the car securely on stands. Then forcefully move the wheel side to side, and up and down. It helps if you have a buddy underneath the wheel so they can spot any loose suspension...

Re: Heater will not blow anything but luke warm air

You sure the outside air flap is closing? You can usually hear it change if you have the blower on full, then change from outside to recirc.

Eh, I live close to Sugar Land. You're right to an extent... Metro cops could care less. But drive in any of the suburbs, ie. Sugar Land, Meadows, Bellaire, etc. and it's a different story. I've...

Re: d16z6 fuel problem!

Have you bought a damn main relay yet? It's less than $35. I can see why RonJ@HT is frustrated.

Re: Welcome my $100.00 Del Sol to the H-T family!

Cool beans!
GL on the master cylinder. I hate replacing those... almost always end up with brake fluid everywhere.

Re: Fluctuating idle and overheating 95 civic

The O2 sensor isn't active until it's warm. (open loop) But you def need to tighten it.
If you're fine up until you hit a red light, is your fan turning on?
Your fluctuating idle is probably...

Re: no spark after attempted compression test

Hmmm, yeah you should get a nice spark coming from the plug if you hold the threaded part to ground. How are your grounds anyway?

Re: Dead 96 Civic DX Out of ideas

Sounds like you've been pretty thorough so far. I don't understand why it wouldn't run. If you have fuel, and have spark, (and air) that's it. It should at least try to run.
Checked your timing...

Re: no spark after attempted compression test

I don't understand how not disabling the distributor would've caused it to fail.
I think you've got a problem elsewhere. Are you confident that you really have no spark? Did you disable the fuel...

Re: EG HATCH OVERHEATS

How old is the radiator? Could be internally corroded, especially if you've been using straight water for any length of time.

Re: rpms keep getting lower!

Try adjusting your clutch pedal. Does it do the same in neutral?

Re: Help! Idle up & Down + No Heat

I'm shaking my head here... but why don't you try blocking the radiator. A thick piece of cardboard would do.

Re: Removing my rear wiper motor?

Two screws for the plastic cover. A few 10mm bolts to remove the motor. Motor weighs 2-3 lbs. tops. You'll need a plug from Honda to fill the hole once you remove it.

Re: d16z6 fuel problem!

Don't bother with a used one. New from Honda for around $35.
Wiggle the key a bit while it's running, if it shuts off, then you have your suspect.
