Re: Turbo LS floods on startup.

Honestly it sounds like a bad MAP sensor. That controls the majority of the load detection on systems like these and it will cause the injectors to flood out the engine (thinks its at WOT at idle). ...

Re: F23 Rebuild/Turbo Project

That's normal. Pretty sure all Hondas do that. If it sat flush with the crank, the bolt wouldnt always be applying pressure against the pulley. Usually you can see where it used to be if you look...

Re: DNJ components rod bearings opinions?

They look like your average budget level aluminum alloy bearings. Similar to ACL's alumaglide, or King OE bearings

Re: Valve Damage

That stuff will (mostly) all come off in a sand blaster. Just buildup from fuel and burning oil

Re: Auto transmission auto shift feature

how is my "logic" flawed when I have personally done exactly what I suggested? I'm not theorizing here. Then please explain how adjusting the throttle valve increases shift points if the tcm controls...

Re: Gap between Wastegate and manifold flange

You have to push it very hard, you're fighting spring pressure. If it doesn't move then you've got another problem

Re: Auto transmission auto shift feature

In theory, yes, that's how it SHOULD react to adjustment. However, from personal experience it behaves slightly different than expected. It will hold the gear at high rpm for ~3-4 seconds after...

Re: Auto transmission auto shift feature

If everyone had to provide credentials or evidence of everything they said, the forums would be cluttered with endless showboating and unnecessary arguments.

That being said, tightening the...

Re: NEW CLUTCH INSTALLED ... first gear shakes when engaging

Clutch chatter from either aggressive clutch material, or a combination of that and a non-machined flywheel surface.

Re: Auto transmission auto shift feature

I know why and how it works... it's obviously not a street car. I would never recommend that for normal driving

Re: Auto transmission auto shift feature

Could you not just adjust the TV cable? The other cable on the throttle body besides the throttle cable. Tighten it up some more. Firmer shifts and higher shift points

Re: Calling all JDM H23A Turbo owners!

There are plenty. SPoolin, BRM, BWR, Go-autoworks, PLM...All ~$800 or below

Coming from a guy who popped his stock H22 on a similar setup...Then the next owner blew two engines with it. Just...

Re: Calling all JDM H23A Turbo owners!

H series engines hate log manifolds. Way too much pre-turbo exhaust pressure which tends to result in an early demise. You'll find that most long-living stock H setups run larger tubular manifolds

Re: Rally car alignment - need recommendations

I dont understand how you'd get your caster that low... I guarantee that's the biggest problem. The car is going to be darting all over the road like that. Swap the fronts like you said, that should...

Re: B16 turbo not building boost

Honestly, that looks like it may be one tooth off. Going by the inner marks only isn't the most accurate because they can be turned in 1/2 tooth each and it will still appear to be correct. Also,...

Re: B16 turbo not building boost

15 inHg is very low vacuum for an engine without big cams, and does in fact indicate mechanical timing is off. A stock honda should be in the 20-22 range

Also, leakdown tests need to be done with...

Re: B16 turbo not building boost

Intake setup? Ive seen restrictive intakes cause a lack of boost, and would also account for the blue smoke as it draws oil in past the seals.

Only real potential causes... mechanical timing,...

Re: IAT sensor has been a pain

What is IAT reading in smanager? If youve got 5v reference and good ground, then either the signal wire to the ECU is bad, or youve got a faulty sensor

Re: clutch hydraulic/fork problem

looks like you've already got the bearing in the flywheel, just a brass sleeve usually. Replace with clutch, but yours is new and should be fine

re: DA-NINE's PTE6870 AWD Integra build thread - updated for 2019

I've had nothing but bad luck with that style distributor rotor on my H22. Switched to an OEM and it cleared up my ignition a lot. FOr some reason it's impossible to find a good picture, but...

Re: Weak acceleration and shifting problems in '12 Civic

Re: Weak acceleration and shifting problems in '12 Civic

you can clear the long term fuel trims by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. THat will zero out the adaptive fuel that the ECU learns over time, and it will restart from scratch without...
