Been going over everything with a multimeter and it's fine.

On a whim, I took it to autozone to bench test. SECOND bad alternator... hmm. So I guess my car is killing alternators?

My first alternator would go in and out with charging or not, randomly, about 3-5 days at a time, and would tend to fluctuate with the weather (rain vs dry)

(the battery light would always come on...

Yeah, I actually just checked and realized what I replaced was the brake light one. This clutch switch is going to be a bitch to get to.

Can you explain in more detail or post a picture? Rock auto shows the same part number for both compressors.

I have a 1996 d16z6 in my 92 body and the compressor lines matched up perfect....

Yeah, I drained some out this summer troubleshooting and just put more water in it, so it thinned it out too much /doh

Anyway to test the pump?

It was probably more like 2-3 seconds. Just while the engine was trying to start and at first when it started. I'm not entirely sure what it sounded like because it was so fast. I don't think it was...

1992. Originally r12 but was converted to r134a.

An autozone compressor is $250+, ebay compressor is < $150. That's why I debated it.

Good trick to know.

It's running about 13.4-5 again now that I replaced te broken belt. So I guess it's on it's way out.
It's a remanufactured alt that's about a year and a half old.

Ha, I can't believe I didn't add 'Belts' to that list. The alternator belt was shredded, just noticed it.

I guess the only other thing now is wondering if vtec works. But I guess I trust that it...

Well with the battery light on and the battery voltage slowing going down i was 100% positive that the alternator wasn't even charging. However that doesn't automatically mean that the alternator is...

solenoid and pressure switch wires are running to orange/white (Solenoid) and orange/blue (pressure switch) on the strut tower plug by the battery. Ground on pressure switch is running to ground wire...

Cel was on before I hooked up vtec. Now it's gone which as I understand should be a good sign.

How do I tell it's working?

Also battery voltage down to 11.7 while on the interstate....

When I try to start it I wait for the fuel pump, make sure everything is off, and crank.

The engine turns over super slow, wooooomp, woooooomp.... But if I keep holding it, or I turn the key off...
