This is some good bit of info. But i happen to know someone with a civic whos origin was japan and it indeed is re vinned with a 17 digit vin. It was issued by CHP and it was placed on the door jam....

Engine can run without CPK but will run like crap. But there is a way to buypass CPK sensor.

If the car is converted to OBD1 then OBD1 distributor doesnt bring CPK sensor.

Buy an aftermarket manifold and i can give u an original b16 throttle body. Just pay shipping.

Its an OBD0 throttle body 4 for sure, B16 or maybe even LS manifold but i dont see how they would get it on there without any modification.

Do u have pictures? If its got +/-1 toe than ur trailing arm is gonna be bent. Are u sre he didnt mean +/-1 camber?

If u plan on eventually pulling out the swap then it will be a nice project. Make sure theres oil, water, and fan comes on if u plan on driving it around. Also make sure there are no knocking noise's...

Which ITR suspension? 4 lug or 5 lug. Its all bolt on.

It all depends what pulley he is using. If u are using the b16 then u can just buy the ls belt, they are all the same for dc. If u have crv pulley then u would need crv belt.

Check the alternator solenoid fuse under the dash. Or all of them actually, including under the hood.

Re: obd2 motor harness to obd1 civic

The harness will plug up and turn on but ur car wont run the same since the 97 has a few obd2 plugs. Its better for u to run ur old harness and a 94-95 ls ecu.
